I'd love to see an updated video using the OM-1 II and show those larger prints you do! OM should capitalize on that showing larger prints!

I have that setup and love the handheld. My question is, I'm scanning vintage Kodachrome slides using the 35mm macro lens connecting to my phone. I can't seem to get the hi-res photo option when using my phone. Before connecting, I set it on 50mb but might scale that down to the 25mb as I've read the 50 for slides may be overkill. But either way, I can't get it to shoot hi-res. Thanks! I'm going to check out your other videos.

I use HHHR in many of my landscape and astro images with very good results. It would be very nice to have Exposure Bracketing AND Gradient Live ND working with the High Res modes. BTW, thanks for the video!!!

I have a battery in my OM-1 and I also use the battery grip with a battery in it. Will that power bank charge both batteries at the same time?

I don't know how you can possibly say that ISO 6400 on the OM1 is really competitive with 1600 on the EM1 MK3, Matt. You've just disagreed with everything you said through the most of your video, where 1600 iso on the EM1 mk3 had noticeably less noise than 6400 on the OM1. Now you're sounding like someone paid by OM Systems instead of an objective reviewer. Why didn't you show a few images shot with the EM1 Mk3 at 6400? That way we could have seen the difference between the two cameras. Suggest you watch the first 10 minutes of your video, where in every single case you say the OM1 had more luminance noise .

Photoshop came out in 1990. There were no digital cameras at the time. The ppi/dpi is for scanning to assure that the image will be reproduced at the same size it was scanned. We now have digital cameras producing files that can be printed at any size we tell the printer. The PPI/DPI in the file is an appendix that just confuses people. Scanning/printing people think an image at 8000x6000 pixels is low resolution , It's 72dpi!

Some very nice images there,, particularly the old truck. I have been considering OM's computational photo modes and the OM1 mkII may really have something with the graduated ND and updated fireware. I just did a bunch of 50mp shots in Utah's national parks and the 16 sec time was fine on my EM-1 mkIII.. haven't found the need to drop $2200 on another camera for 9 seconds occasionally. and my MKIII focuses better than my brother in law's OM-1... I'm holding out hope for a PEN F type body.

Well.. OM-1 keep ISO and shadow recovery very well! You added +100 to shadows, and it kept really well even at +25 luminance at base. And that was WITHOUT noise AI reduction yet! Cause then you can go to the AI Noise reduction by Lightroom, and I'd guess it's done great. One thing I calculated very fast - adding 1.5 stops to 1600 iso is not that high, but adding +1.5 stops to 6400 iso for M43 sensor is A LOT. Based on ISO --> 1600 becomes 4000, 6400 becomes 16.000! I'd not go over 12.800 even on my A7IV. Sure you can but it has colours shift. OM-1 is great camera! VERY GREAT.

The Edit > Sky Replacement feature was added to Photoshop 2021 and made the process very simple so that even PS Idiots like me, lol, can do it and get very good results. For PS 2020 there was a more complicated way of replacing the sky, demonstrated here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eouyeJ2cj76jmZY

I've never seen a video that adequately explains this for me. I read the comments and people are gushing in their praise and I'm just .. Nope. What's the point of having the ability if it does nothing? There must be a use case. This is what my brains asking all the while you just zoom past that part... or I was on Amazon and not paying attention... What's important to me is being able to export my image for a webpage that looks great, but that if people try to save and print, it bcomes unusable at anything larger than 3 x 2" Anyway, off to watch someone else's video on the same frikken topic.

Hey Matt thank you for this video. Really appreciate on what you have shared with us. So for example if I would want to print the image you're using at 300dpi but not 33x22 but at the size of 30x20 how do I set it? Because adjusting the ppi would effect the size of the image as well

I listened to your video three times and still am confused. You stress the image dimensions and then glossed over the resolution (72 to 300 psi). So is resolution the 72to 300 or the image dimensions. There is a lot of dialogue that still has me confused.

Ok, I am lost! I thought I would try to find out what the relationship is between Megapixels and Megabytes on my photos but got lost! My photo in question says 5037x2836 pixels which is 16:9 and on my PC it says it is 5.91MB at 24 bit depth. 5037x2836 is 14.284 MP right? But the online calculator says 14.284MP is 40.869MB and not the 5.91MB the computer says for this photo. Where are I going wrong please?

A competition requirements are 150dpi, I modified resolution of the picture in Photoshop but when exporting it I can't find the same resolution, can you explain please?
@teach3r8 Жыл бұрын
Beautifully explained. Now can anyone explain why phone & monitor manufacturers are keeping secrets about what the screen is telling the device? On Windows XP & 2000, we could set the exact number of pixels to be shown on screen, and set scaling. Now apparently users are too dumb to have the right to adjust their own screen, hence artificial manufacturer limits are in place, and worst of all, they don't publish what these limits are, so when you install android 12 or windows 10 or 11, scaling to the smallest size of icons might be WAY bigger than what you want, even if your display has 100 times the pixels of a display 20 years ago.
