I've got an old truck all primed grey, and sanded, I want to paint it root beer metallic. Should I put sealer on there first? If so what shade

I see that you applied the tight coat, but whatever happened to the fill coat? Was the putty the fill coat?

You didn't "fix" the threads at all.... Well done video. But I want to fix the threads... Plus how does the cable attach once you stick a bolt on it? Can't fit it over the boots head

Mine wouldnt come off, was in the process of cutting it off with a dremel but my last cutting wheel was down to a nub and flew off. I was able to loosen it enough to slide it off the battery, might be zip tying it back on.

It looks like texture, but not any marble I've seen. You need more veins and color variations. Just google images of marble

To mix small batches of epoxy I use 2 syringes. One is for the primer the other for the hardener. I use different sizes so they don't get used with the wrong product what might contaminate it. Then it is no problem to use them several times.

I think the hair dryer is the problem. I saw a video and tons of comments saying it works using a heat gun then the compressed air

Thanks, Donny. GotRDun. Two things for us... Making sure the glass was in the rubber tracks right. We bought a regulator without a motor or bolts, so we had to swap those from the old one. Went just fine.

Biggest problem i see with applying primer is priming over shiny surfaces. The repair will ring-out. Second is not finish blocking with a good powder guide coat. I'll use that black dust BEFORE primer, and final sand before paint. Proper mixing, and flash times and proper temps... Masking techniques.... respirator.... Yeah, 30 years worth of certified advice right here, i should start a shop, dammit

Some epoxy primers have a pot-life of several days! Mix a batch on monday, use it til friday. You can slow down pot-life by putting the material in a refrigerator bwahahahaha

40 grit or 36 grit paper. 40 you can get with holes. An 40 kicks butt. Get a carbon filter mask for fumes. Mat fiberglass is not for strength. 1708 or 1808 (45 - 90). 1708 -45 will go over corners good, cut boat woven glass on a 45 will go over corners better. 3 layers of 1708 be about 1/8 th inch.

For me. Its always when i take short cuts and use spray paint primer for quick touch ups instead of mixing it and cleaning my gun after. Dont take short cuts. Stick to your routine

I do have a question about the tools, I don't have a socket set, but it seems like from comments and reviews on Amazon I can use a regular one and don't need to get an electric one. Is this correct? Update: Figured it out! Clicked link in description for Amazon part (used) $38, found socket set at Dollar Tree $5, also purchased clip removal tool $7 but did not use/need. Already had screwdriver, used cardboard from box regulator came in to hold glass in place. Basically fixed myself for under $50!!!

Amazing cadence, explanation, and just not condescending like many "how to" vids can, albeit unintentionally, sound. I've only ever switched my wiper blades, as far as car do-it-yourself things, but I decided to at least check if this might be something I can tackle in this the information age lol. Your video gave me the confidence to order the part (also the link :) and I'm waiting on delivery today to attempt, thank you!!!

Good afternoon ive got a plastic bumper cover that someone already repaired with something its a light blue color. A few videos ppl say dont use original 3m bondo filler? My head is spinning on which products to use. I have adhesion promoter. I dont have much of a budget but want to do a good job since for insurance purposes. Also i have a rare paint code its PWH (pearl white) for a dodge journey i was wondering if those part store paints like diamond white etc. are pretty close?

I thought that when you leave metal bare it begins to instantly oxidize-which is how rust starts. I sand and hit the metal quickly with primer.
