Such denial ..... Massive damage will take years to recover from. 2 1/2 years after Ian , people still not back in their homes on Sanibel Island. Woke Asheville "newspaper" not admitting the many many deaths not reported. Maybe never reported. Truth matters, even in DNCCP Buncombe county.

I love watching your videos every weekend while I mow my lawn. I learn more about each town and get updates on the state of affairs with the recovery. It wasn’t lost on me that the FEMA rep said you can’t take video. We have first amendment rights and they already have a bad reputation. They are supposed to work for the people and transparency is a right and their obligation as employees of the people. And the violation of your rights and violation of their obligation of transparency is not lost on me. I pray for the continued success of your real estate business and WNC.

Probably don’t advocate for feeding bears and letting them walk into homes. Let me explain to all of you what happens when you teach bears that it’s ok to walk into homes and then feed them. They learn this behavior and can’t differentiate between homes where people let them do this and homes where they can’t. This leads to them being euthanized and or people being hurt or killed. It’s disgusting that people think this is ok to do. It’s already a shame people from here don’t know how to live with bears keeping both parties safe last thing we need is a bunch of people moving here feeding the bears and letting them come on in their homes.

I will say that we have visited the Biltmore Estate for so many years as members, until my health has declined! If I can buy a scooter to help me and my buddy travel across the estate like we did in 2019 We are in our 70's and cannot do the walk, but we can do the talk and can do the taste, and we can do our dinner at the Bistrodo the drink of the wine!

I’ve lived in Asheville my entire life since 1990 to now, so 35 years I have been here. Over that span of time I have experienced Ashevilles feel completely change. It is not “progressive” it’s just a hideout for deadbeats who fled their own city for really strange reasons like being a sexual predator, drug addict etc. This “Town” (not a city) has been completely taken over by a different feel than it once had. It’s full of miserable people, miserable lifestyle and miserable mindset. Unless you like filthy little commie marxists spitting in your coffee before they serve it to you with a fake smile-then don’t move here.

At 4 am while the storm is still going on outside, my daughter and I hear the men in our neighborhood out with chainsaws cutting trees out of roads and driveways. It took two or three full days of that before vehicles could even think of leaving. Please remind folks there are still a lot of roads that aren't ready for recreational travel yet. Some are gravel now, many are one way, and some may still be closed or closed to public. Also as everyone knows we were hit HARD a lot of families still don't have homes, water power and so on. Yes this is usually a tourist town, BUT people are now being told they can't rebuild. They can't put in anymore campers for temporary housing to help those living in tents. They aren't giving permits or approving some areas due to the "flood zone" or "1000 year flood areas, which is BS. Because while they hinder the locals and make it harder than it already is, they are on begging for tourism. Any available housing NEEDS TO BE FOR LOCALS THAT HAVE LOST EVERYTHING. I don't care how it sounds, I'm sick of our governments greed being the deciding factor in our neighbors lives. I have seen the absolute best in humanity pour itself all over these mountains in helping one another no questions asked. (Well except for FEMA, telling people to skip over places that had Trump signs up) Anyway if you do come to the area keep in mind our community is still without basic needs in many areas and a lot of us are still hurting. People are still missing or morning those no longer with us. So don't come in using up all the resources sent here from churches all across the nation in order to help locals. Not be used to support tourist coming gawking at the destruction.

The reports I've heard is over 100,000 residents of WNC houses were effected. So whatever from that that's homeless now is A LOT. It is mostly where I go as to what you may experience, I avoid Asheville at all cost but I work there, I definitely don't go at night thinking it's safe or welcoming. But those that were displaced due to the storm is not the ones you need worry about harassing you! Your probably talking about the drug addicts and bums, honestly I've seen very few of this crowd since the flood. But please keep in mind, we have thousands of ill willed criminals in our country right now, a lot of dangerous folks been released all around so no matter where u go, keep your head on a swivel and always have a means of protection!! Always! 😊

Bringing money to the local economy IS "help" . When people buy homes they also buy furniture, appliances, home treatments, they rent moving vans , etc. I find your position rather bizarre to be honest. It's possible to bring back the area without locking down an important part of the economy. Then there's that entire "freedom of movement" and "right to conduct commerce" thingies guaranteed to us by Constitution. The faster Asheville gets back to all normal commerce the better. A ton of gig workers there just like in most tourist towns. Throttling anyone's economic life-line doesn't seem very moral to me . Just my opinion.
