Didn't even get through the first episode before I stated out loud that I needed more. 4 20-min episodes were NOT enough. There are SOO many concepts about dreams that can still be explored, so I'm hoping they carry on this series🙏🏾

The show was originally going to have seven episodes, but it was cut down to four due to story issues on Inside Out 2, the show going overbudget, and Pixar suffering massive layoffs and shifting its priorities away from streaming.

My jaw dropped at the sleepwalking scene. It was so real and creepy, but also a fantastic and creative way to show the concept. Xeni was my favorite. I quickly figured out that his voice actor also voiced one of the Jerry's in Soul. He was such a fun mix of snob and free spirited teen. Paulina's journey went from rough but understandable stubbornness to sweet and wholesome by the end. The quality of this mini-series was evident from scene one and I hope more people talk about it.

I don’t think Inside Out 3 would be a necessary thing-unless we’re going all the way up to Riley’s adulthood-but I would LOVE for them to explore more of Riley’s teenage phases in and around Inside Out 2 to really stretch their legs. This was only 4 episodes, but there’s *plenty* of space for this series to grow and evolve into its own thing and expand in bigger and more exciting ways.

The last episode was absolutely incredible! SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU HAVEN’T FINISHED IT. I watched both Inside Out and Inside Out 2, and honestly, both made me cry. On top of that, I binged Dream Productions when it first came out, and it was spectacular. One of my favorite parts was when Riley realizes she’s lucid dreaming-it was handled so well. Instead of the chaotic moment when she’s sleepwalking, where the Sleep and Awake dial is spinning super fast, the lucid dreaming scene has the dial moving in slow motion. The contrast between the two was so creative and really captured the essence of those moments. All the episodes were done so well, especially in how they portrayed how chaotic and bizarre dreams can be (trust me, I’ve had some REALLY weird ones). The animation quality was stunning, and the humor sprinkled throughout-thanks to characters like Nightmare, Funny, and the other directors-added so much charm. It’s a solid 10/10 for me. I only wish we could’ve gotten more episodes! The combination of emotional storytelling, visual creativity, and relatable moments made the whole series unforgettable.

I was surprised how much I found myself loving this miniseries, especially Xeni’s character. He reminds me a lot of what I love about Wes Anderson movies: dry, blunt, critical, creative, quirky, slightly bonkers, and ambitious. It brought me great “joy” to see a character like him call out the safe, corporate mentality of the dream industry, and how it’s hurting the potential for experimentation with cool new ideas. Even if Disney doesn’t listen, and keep doing what it’s doing, it’s awesome that the people working within it are still showing their drive for art through projects like these. Plus, I love how he grows more open to ideas he wouldn’t otherwise really be a fan of; out of love for Riley, he let’s Rainbow Unicorn be part of her lucid dream, and the party be as girly and colorful as she wants it to be.

Imagine a Pixar 3 where Riley deals with Love and romance and the key to Love is loving yourself. When you said the thing about how all of the characters love Riley so much, it would be cool to see a moment when Riley doesn't even love herself and how her brain workers would react or be influenced by it. Just a fan theory :P

9:39 honestly, the moment Paula started acting very self-centered, I immediately thought of Dwayne Johnson. At first, I was thinking Dwayne Johnson and Auli’i Cravalho. Since Dwayne Johnson is so pushy on making unnecessary movies so he can boost his ego and his popularity. Especially when Paula was clinging so close to the good ol’ days, is basically Johnson. Dwayne is clinging to his good old days of wrestling fame and acting fame, like Moana. But now that it’s gone, he’s desperately clinging to it. He’s going back to wrestling, pushing Moana live actions and Moana sequels. The whole spiel. I’m genuinely starting to wonder if they based not just Hollywood but the Rock for Paula to act but eventually learn from.

I first saw an ad on instagram and that was the only way I found out about this show. The advertisement or something weren't all that strong or prominent. I first thought it was going to be another sequel about a bunch of shorts about Riley's life after Inside Out 2, but then I heard about it being an "in-between-quel" and I thought it was a lame idea because I really wanted to see how Inside Out 2 changed Riley going forward, but I saw the first episode and I just loved it. I really liked the animation for Riley's teenage self in her paper version and how Riley was super stressed out over something as simple as a middle school dance and honestly I just loved the way theyhat all parts of riley just love her and only want the best. in the first few movies i didn't really understand how the emotions of riley fit into the world of riley's mind bc they were always saying "headquarters" but i find it so much funy that they are literally the top of the top that every other part of riley has to answer to and honestly it did well as the part it is with the whole expansion of the world of inside out and my most favorite thing is how it shows how riley feels about romance at her age because she rejects all the clinginess of the boyfriends and like it i guess shows how she doesn't seem interested in romance because she's too young and not ready for it beyond just watching it unfold

The first time I had a glimpse of Dream Productions studios in the film I knew I want to see more of it. I knew this specific department in Rileys head had so much going on and I'm so eager to explore it. So I got really really excited when I heard it's having its series 😭 Coming from seeing it, expectations were actually met if not exceeded. I'm just so satisfied and I wish they don't stop making these and exploring more. One thing that I love about it is there's literally no limit on what could get explored. After all this is THE Dream Productions. We're literally talking about endless possibilities. I also love the fact that if we take out reality filter we get Lucid dreaming and it's mind blowing how accurate it is in the science of dreams. The series is just perfect. I love how the progression is similar to a movie which makes it more exciting every episode. Aaaaaahh, I just love everything about it!!

I saw the show yesterday and really liked it! I personally would like a season 2 since there is a lot more the show can cover, involving the real life movie industry, like the concept of mockbusters (movies that attempt to cash in on the success of popular films). I also like the mockumentary style, which reminds me a lot of "Surf's Up," a Sony animated film that also had a mockumentary style to it.

Thanks for talking about it, otherwise idk if I would have watched it. It's great, so well written, a true gem compared to the many many other things that are produced. I think that Pixar is really smart with making it somewhat short, it leaves us, the fans, craving more. I don't want them to squeeze more out of this idea.

the reason the hollywood angle works is that this represents someone (i.e. Pixar) trying to tell stories meant for children but when both their audience and the studio's tastes mature, they can no longer get away with their simpler stories (think Toy Story and Bugs life vs Turning Red and Luca. All simple stories, but differently received due to changing days and times. At least that's what Pixar wants to think, if you disagree then fine)
@randomcat5262
@randomcat5262 Ай бұрын
Add in Disney studio interference, the pressures to include or not include certain elements (like LGBT stuff, no matter which side you fall on the debate, you will probably agree there is some pressure in some direction to circumvent truer storytelling for a political agenda). In this dichotomy, Xeni sort of represents the so called "woke" new people and Paula the older, more traditionalist storytellers, but also this is about reconciling that both of them have a heart in the right place. Jean probably represents Disney trying to make their stories more mature, sophisticated, take the audience more seriously, when it isn't really needed (think the disney live action remakes). When anyone with a brain knows that it won't really work out.

Been a huge fan of the series since Inside Out 2, that film really touched my heart. This series made me feel it was made for kids, I watch mostly children's media and a lot of the time you can't really tell, but I could slightly tell it was made for kids just from a few of the jokes. But it was very, very much not a bad show at all! Not amazing but I genuinely enjoyed my time with the series, Xeni was my favorite character, and most surprisingly of all, it managed to be relevant. I was so worried from the time the show was announced that this was just a huge marketing ploy with nothing to really say about Riley the way the movies did. But no, this was a fun experience that helped me wonder about my own Dream Productions, considering how I usually always have awful dreams, and just by them bringing up that dreams were supposed to influence the way Riley lived her life and help her process her own memories better when she can't deal with them made me understand my nightmares a lot better. Certainly not going to win an award but I thought it was a very serviceable series!! I was genuinely surprised to hear radio silence from the internet about it.

To me this series has been too fast paced like other media lately, but to see this in a series or maybe anything in general, like it has so many good ideas that get thrown at the wall but they are never really expanded upon, i do like the refrences here and there but the fast pacing gives off the vibe of the series itself not thinking that its worth your time, it captures my attention, sure and i do wanna watch more but this feeling of it not being worth watching that the series itself is giving me because of it comming off as that, it feels like i shouldnt. It feels like if the thing you are watching was actually worth your time then why should it bother being so fast paced to keep you glued at the screen? Its kinda like how i lately have been speeding up youtube videos to save time, i tend to do that when im somewhat intrested in it but im not fully willing to spend time caring about it other than as a distraction. that parallel could be expanded upon and i hope someone will look into this. i didnt watch the entire thing because of this. treat this part as a somewhat seperate comment, but because its disney our main character probably wont get what she deserves for turning a nostalgic happy memory into a perhaps even traumatic memory. in my opinion she deserves to get kicked out of the industry, the whole thing seems to have unitentonally set her up as a villan and me and my mom have ended up rooting for her to get entierly discontinued from doing that kind of work. Riley does not deserve more traumatic memories because of this numbskull being unable to move on from the times of her being 3. I really think she should just get kicked out and stop being the main character and instead follow her assistant who got promoted. But because this is disney they are compeletly alien to an even remotely unique spin on a narrative. so they will most definetly just make her learn to move on from the past and make proper dreams. Its so obvious they want you to dislike the daydreamer dude, xeno i think his name was? And i did dislike him, but not because he was the obvious villan but because of how cringe they made him and he is like the embodiment of what a boomer thinks an edgy artistic teenager is like. I dont hate his character, i hate his concept. I do have more to say but i dont wanna be overly negative. The whole inside out idea has holes here and there, and im fine with them because its an intresting concept. I just thought id put this out there somewhere on the internet where the subject in question is talked about so someone could see a diffrent take. Its a bit strange that all i could find was positive things but i guess thats cuz nobody who isnt being payed for it or are intrested wont seek it out.

It was amazing, but I think it didn’t get much attention because social media enjoys hating things more, and the show wasn’t the sort of hate-watch and nitpick thing that gets clicks.

Don’t expect any more. From what I heard at Lightbox after Win or Lose comes out don’t expect anymore Pixar shows.

Probably the name doesn't have inside out in it. Not great idea with kids have a different name. The Dream Productions show is good.

Why is inside out the series Disney decides to make good sequels and shows for
@alliskye3996

It may be because it has the emotional depth since they're in just a normal tweens mind. Also, It was not just a cash grab so I guess the directors and writers actually cared about the quality??? *I'm not trying to say this in a snarky tone I am making fun of the money hungry executives in hollywood and disney/pixar*

Pixar making a great and beautiful comeback! Meanwhile at Disney, it's just falling apart, Pixar may have to cut their association soon because of Disney's failures.

I could be wrong because this isn't my strong suit… but can Pixar just do that? Doesn't Disney own them?

@@snapdragonslair Yes... but isn't there an option that they won't need Disney?

I watched all the episodes and it was pretty good, but it was too much about filming. I also just want to point out that Paula is an idiot and Janelle and Xeni are the best characters. I'm also grateful that they didn't change the voice cast and animation like DreamWorks does (Boss Baby, the Bad Guys, so on.)

Personally this series felt like it had a great combination of American and British comedy. I love when the Americans use a bit a British comedy cos making fun of yourself if hilarious!! We don't always need slapstick humour

This is so surprising, i personally thought that this show was, a show? i mean it felt very repetitive and too simple and similar to other things that have been released. I felt like this was too much like inside out as it was kinda like the same template with different colours.
