When I first saw this film, the ice cream scene, I knew it was filmed in LA. However, nothing in that scene looked familiar. Now, it makes sense after seeing the 10 Freeway. Been in LA since 1977, i was a toddler then.

This is nuts. I was just wondering like... I wonder if anyone knows the filming locations of DW 1974. Also because the trains didn't have much graffiti. Random search turns up this video. Amazing. Well done.

It's a freaking 53 years old gap and nothing has changed except the camera Quality. USA has been sleeping for over 5 decades it seems. Nothing has changed.

Hey, did there used to be very few stop signs in cities or did Hitchcock remove them for a better shot?

I’ve never been to New York or ever lived in a city with skyscrapers and it’s so bewildering trying to understand how life works living in crowded places like in this movie. I felt a lot of anxiety when the women kept running to dead ends and felt like New York would be a perfect maze for serial killers to hide. Also I had no idea there was live shows happening like that.

Thank you so much for this, I am doing a small fan rewrite of Teen Wolf, and doing art for it, so to get some references just like this is a miracle

@@BlissfulDeeA couple weeks ago, I did all Police Academy (1984) locations in Toronto, as well as all Adventures in Babysitting. I’m just waiting a few weeks for Jess to check his Patreon emails, so I can set things up and forward him all my footage so he can do 2 more reshoots. Police Academy is ready to go. He only has to grab a small amount of footage in Chicago to complete Adventures In Babysitting. I’m also looking at other movies filmed just outside Toronto, like Billy Madison, Amelia, etc…. I challenge some of us faithful subscribers to this channel, to try and do the same in their home city and research which movies were made. I contemplated doing my own thing for Police Academy, but I prefer to hand it over to Jessie and help grow his channel 😎

Work is a little slow for me this week, so I think I will head downtown (Toronto), which is about 15 miles away for me, and shoot footage from Police Academy 1984. I'll send you the clips when I'm done. You can do your before/after magic with it. Down the road, I could also get footage for 1987's Adventures In Babysitting.
@andreiterАй бұрын
I shot about 3/4 of the movie yesterday at the two biggest used locations. Today I’m off to shoot three or four smaller locations which occurs at the very beginning of the movie.

I also shot ALL Toronto locations for Adventures In Babysitting last week. All you have to do is grab a few outdoor locations in Chicago, and ya have a 2nd reshoot.

I have to ask how on earth do you find the internal filming locations ? Is this recorded anywhere or is it just from speaking to people involved ? Even there memory 35+ years later wouldn't remember the address surely. Assume permits were requested which would document them perhaps ? Just curious, awesome job as always, I love it when you can see how much trees have grown and especially when building features just haven't changed.

Very thorough video. You did a great job hunting these locations down. My only critique is that you got the year wrong. E.T. was released in 1982, not 1981.
