Been road-tripping in Teslas for 7 years. Michigan to Florida, Michigan to Kentucky, Michigan to Tennessee, Michigan to South Dakota. You really and rarely need to charge beyond 80 percent. Use the onboard destination navigation and it will automatically guide you with no worries.

FSD uses the MCU 3 hardware which should perform the same in 2018 to 2022 models. Intel Atoms vs AMD is for Infotainment system (all aspects of the screen) but not how the car will behave while under FSD.

I will say that you def want to be at 20% or just a little under. I charged at a SC from 6% up to 72%. Spent $17.28. Charged up again at 19% went up to 87% spent the same amount of money.

Howdy neighbor, Goldsboro here, Was curious, if you were eligible for the tax credit for I believe $4,000? If so, how was that process? Also if I may ask, how was it finding a company to install the home charger, that's one of the things that plagues my mind on getting a Tesla, and the last thing.. I saw there are NO incentives for our state, NC. Instead, we are penalized $180 annually for the registration. Has that been bothersome? Also so curious about insurance... anyway, just some things I've had on my mind, been really thinking of getting a Tesla lately. Apologies for the wall of text/questions, just thought I'd pick at the brain some lol. PS. Awesome videos!

Thanks for the video Matthew. I've had a 2019 RWD Model 3 Standard range for about 18 months and had always thought it should have had a 150 kW max charge rate because of its smaller 55 kWh battery, but this summer I've frequently seen 174 kW and even 177 kW on Version 3 Superchargers. There must have been an update that has raised the maximum charge rate. I'd like to repeat the test you did but from the more common low SOC I get on a road trip of around 5% to 95%, but what did you do to capture the data and display the graphs that way?
@OfficialElectrifyingInsights4 ай бұрын
I’m glad you enjoyed the video! I’m glad to hear your charge rate has increased! The way I track the charging data is through an app called Tessie. You just connect it to your Tesla account and it automatically tracks all charging data and generates those graphs I showed in the video.

hey! im thinking of upgrading the FSD computer in my 2019 Model 3. Have you noticed any other benefits to upgrading the computer? Like does the UI work any smoother? Or do the visualizations work better? My current HW2.5 struggles with visualizing the cars near me, they often float around. Does HW3 fix that at all? Thanks!!

Only thing I don’t like about super charging stations is that they don’t have protection against the rain like traditional gas stations with roofs

I have a great appreciation for Tesla and their impressive technology. However, in the video you waited an hour to charge your Tesla, paying $27.93, and received only a 283-mile range. In comparison, I typically spend between $30 and $40 to fill up my gas-powered car, which provides nearly 500 miles of range. To clarify, my vehicle is not a Prius. Given these figures, I am finding it difficult to see the practical advantages of an electric vehicle over a traditional combustion engine. While I understand that Teslas are known for their speed and advanced features, I prioritize practical benefits over performance, as I am not engaging in high-speed driving.

You don’t charge these to 100 percent every single time you charge. It’s bad for the battery. Unless you have a LFP battery. The max for daily usage should always be 70-80 percent which is more than good enough for daily needs. Which typically takes around 15-20mins with a nice preconditioned battery at a v3 supercharger. Also superchargers are meant for road trips not for daily use case scenario. The TRUE ADVANTAGES to a EV is charging at home ! This is where your true savings come at and much cheaper to charge and cheaper than gas. Depending on their electricity company. Some have it as cheap as .10 cents per kw or less . He added 66.28 kw to his battery and at .10 that would have been 6.628 to juice up at home
@RetroEliteGaming4 ай бұрын
Also price varies per supercharger station just like gas stations. Where I live it’s 0.30 at my local supercharger so for me it would have been 19.884.
@OfficialElectrifyingInsights4 ай бұрын
@@RetroEliteGaming Absolutely! Home charging is the ultimate savings jackpot that many people overlook. Couldn't agree more! I also highly recommend @TheCodyHertzberg check out one of my road trip videos for a firsthand look at real-world traveling in a Tesla.

The average daily commute for US drivers is 39 miles. How often does your 500 mile range ever play a role in being "practical"? Nonsense. "The average driver in the U.S. drives 39.7 miles per day, according to the most recent Department of Transportation statistics."
@Trust_but_Verify4 ай бұрын
Compared to 9:05 70.642 kwh x 0.39 = $27.55 at supercharging . My household rate is $0.20 kwh = $14.13. If I sign up for time of use rate (9pm-7m Mon-Fri) then it's $0.095 kwh which would be $6.71. Pricing for charging at home vs supercharger is comparing to eating at home vs eating at a restaurant.
