3 Questions: 1. How do you develop advanced skill workouts? Most athletes I train can do basic ballhandling/shooting drills, but I know there is a lot more in depth you can go, such as developing body angles to blow by defenders, being relaxed while shooting, engraining scoring/separation moves, etc... 2. Can you go more in depth on program design? I would like to be able to customize workouts for the athletes I change, be able to adapt on the fly based on the equipment we have, the sport the athlete is in, their energy/injury/recovery status, etc... 3. How do you find the proper balance of skill work, strength/conditioning, games, mental training, etc...without overtraining or getting burned out? I appreciate your information. Much respect for you guys and prayers for you.

Best Sports Performance Podcast out there. Keep going, please. I watch this one and the Andy Galpin one over and over. But my kid plays Hockey and being from Canada we’re all hockey people. So if you could do some more cross-sports episodes that’s how this will grow in my humble opinion. Vertical jumps transcend into all sports, I feel.

I’m late on this but there’s a question that one must asked. My man said that any of the top 15 players replace Jordan on those Bulls team they win multiple championships… these are the same players that needed multiple Allstate to win and lose chips. The bulls only had 1 allstar during both 3 peats. Tou have to dive deeper with that claim. Jordan was a better facilitator and passer than kwahi

Hot take: "Harden gets a lot of hate and won't be on many peoples' top lists because the out of the world offensive efficiency comes at the price of playing visually unappealing basketball." Free throws are hands down the best possible scenario for the offense especially if a player is +80% on them. Free throws because of shooting fouls on 3pts are absolutely ridiculously efficient. But tell me how many people are going to be cheering in awe when Harden scores 27 pts on 2/9 shooting from the field? Will kids have posters of Harden at the free-throw line? That said Harden is still the best offensive weapon (in terms of efficiency on volume) of the current NBA.

Is quarter squat really better than half and full squat for vertical jump
@CoachFrikki5 жыл бұрын
Deep squats might be better for developing the strength base for someone who hasn't built his base strength yet. And in most cases strength=more power=more vert. But quarter squats are a lot more similar to jumping. You have to create that force in less time. Both have their place but quarter squats are probably better for already highly trained basketball players.
@James58262 Жыл бұрын
@@CoachFrikki buddy strength from full squats doesn’t translate to jumping well because it’s SLOW strength. Quarter squats are less slow and they are better especially for one foot jumpers as they build strengths in that range of motion
@viktorbabaian4573 жыл бұрын
About what evolution in the game he`s talking about? There is huge degradation nowadays, the players can only shoot millions of three-pointers, flop and make travels. No skills, no great footwork, no mid range. Look at the SGs of 00s like TMac, Iverson, Kobe, Wade, Carter, Allen. So skilled players that did everything on the court. And now: threes, stepback, free throw. That`s all.
@DrewNusser5 жыл бұрын
You guys are saying you need a super team to win rings? No. You need team-first superstars to win. Sorry, but Kawhi, Siakam and Lowry don't make up a "super team" by any stretch of the imagination. The best teams are the ones that share the ball well and have leaders who don't demand the ball at the top of the key every single possession. Ball-dominant hero ball doesn't work. It never has. That's why LeBron has always struggled at the highest level, despite having some of the most talented "super teams" of all time. LeBron, Harden and Westbrook need to get the memo. Until they do, keep them out of the MJ conversation. If Kawhi stays in Toronto he looks like he might be building a dynasty with 1/3 the talent around him that LeBron had on his super teams. So how is LeBron the best? How is he even better than Kawhi? By the way, I love the podcast and your channel in general. You guys are awesome.

I love your material Paul, but your picks are clearly bias to Harden since he is your client. However, James Harden is not a better player than Kawhi Leonard, and I'm not a prisoner of the moment. Kawhi has a finals MVP and Defensive Player of the year, something Harden doesn't and most likely never will. Also, to say Harden 'could' be a top 5 defensive player??? There are endless hours of video of Harden playing absolutely zero defense, standing straight up, ball watching in help side position while his player back or front cuts him for a uncontested layup or dunk. The first step to being a great defensive player is commitment, James doesn't have that; only when he wants to. Kawhi carries the load on offense and still is a top 5 defensive player, as did MJ for many years. You'd have a easier time scoring on Harden than Steph, just back cut him!
@Amanonhere5 жыл бұрын
Cody Kaster This year he was an excellent defensive guard. You are tripping. Film and analytics both showed that he was a good defensive guard. You also clearly didn’t listen to what was said. They described how James Harden has an excellent body with long arms and a strong frame for defense. Harden has several of the highest usage seasons in nba history and as a result he can’t expend as much energy on defense. Kawhi Leonard is on a better team and doesn’t have to shoulder as much of the load on offense. Harden played much of this season without a true second option and g league three and D guys around him. They were out of the playoff picture and then Harden averaged 40 points for like 2 months and he brought them all the way to a 4 seed. I also think Kawhi Leonard is the best player in the NBA right now. But you’re acting like it’s crazy for Paul to have Harden in the conversation. All Paul is arguing is that he has the tools to be a good defender if he could commit that much energy to it. Also Paul acknowledges his bias and that he sticks with his guy. This is an opinion there is nothing wrong with that. Harden objectively has an argument to be number 1. He’s been top2 mvp candidate for several seasons. He put up 36-6-8 on solid efficiency while playing solid defense. These are metrics that put him in the discussion for best player.
