With lots of time and patience, I was able to use a coat hanger bent at the tip to catch the bar and unlatch it without breaking the plastic. Then if the actuator is still working, and just the blue plastic connector on the end is broken, you can buy Dorman Help! part no. 42426. It is a 2 pack of those blue plastic connectors. I got them at local parts store for $7.99.

@@NiceGarage Well, the only reason I tried it is because I saw where the release was after you had yours open, otherwise I never would have known where it was to try it.

To not break the plastic pull carpet at middle of panel down an inch .There you will find a small rectangular hole. Measure 2 and 3 eighths up from hole.Drill a 3 quarter inch hole in plastic cover. There will be a bit of insulation to open up with needle nose pliers.Stick finger in to engage release button.(That's what she said!)Good luck.

Drilling holes or breaking things is so basal in the realm of really repairing a car, IMHO. I just fixed mine after watching many you tube videos hawking breakage of the panel, and one like you say about the drilling. Either destructive way is diametrically opposed to GM's methodology, and mine too, but, then, I DID train under a Rolls Royce Master. After using the wire trick with a piece of brazing rod, pliers, and many bending reconfigurations, I DID trip the release lever and got the window open... no breakage of the panel. Studying the panel and finding the little rectangular window made me curious....SO, I put it back together unrepaired and closed/ latched the window. It's amazing how simple it was to open the window using this opening.... no drilling/ maiming the panel or damaging the metal panel, or possibly doing harm to pieces beyond the metal panel by a plunging, spinning drill bit. No broken plastic finish panel per the banal among us! Cheers!

This would probably help me. But because you move the camera so much I cant get a second to see what you are pointing at or touching especially when you shove your whole finger in the hole as a "visual"So...what part of the locking mechanism is a moving part that releases someth8ing? that gold housing you keep touching doesnt fucking budge.... just asking.

Lol bro your killing me. I was lowkey thinking same thing💯🤔 I wanna try and do it without busting my panel and having it rattle forever there after. But I couldn't see what he was saying to hit to release the glass.
