How’d you get the back glass to open, did you tear it apart from the inside?

@@bigman4175 yeah the video is terrible but if you climb in the back you can take some of the plastic loose enough to reach down and pop the glass manually. In my case the actuator was still good. The little clip broke. I zip tied it back together.

Mines has been shut and stuck for about 10 years. Had I known it was a (zip-tie) fix, and not a "manditory $40 clip" I would have had my hatch open atleast 5 years ago.

This helps alot, also before you start yanking make sure you unscrew the handle inside. If you lift it and take a peek under you can see the screw. Take those out or you'll break it just like I did. Theres also a screw in the middle by the window, I also ended up breaking since I thought it was just stuck lol. Theres really no way to unscrew it though without breaking. Maybe I got too excited and insteas of using a screwdriver to push the hook the keeps the window locked.

The handle is great advice. I didn’t on mine and nearly broke it. I also broke the plastic. I could get down in there easily and pulled a little too hard lol.

Mine is just dead but it will pop open with the remote. Thanks for vid because my blue little plastic part was broken. After replacement, pops the rear like a dream, not sure whats up with the button, it makes no noise when pushed

The button itself may be bad also could be a loose wire to or from the button! I’m glad the video helped!

I know your video was posted 2 years ago but I just came across it. And I have a 2000 chevrolet s10 blazer LT and I don't have the tail gate model like yours. Mine is the entire hatch with a back window that opens separately. And the button on the dash and the button on the hatch does not open the window. But it does not even move the actuator. And all the fuses are good, except I also can't figure out why my visor vanity lights are not working either. But I can't figure it out

My first thought would be maybe your actuator has gone bad? Second is maybe a cut wire somewhere? Further than that I’m not sure man.

Got a question mine won't open up I have a 96 jimmy and somebody was messing with the wires underneath the back bumper. Is there a wire under the back bumper that connects to that

Kevan Glover probably. There is a wire loom that goes into the body at the bottom of the tailgate. Do you hear anything when you press the button? With mine it still made the noise like it was trying to open but wouldn’t. If it doesn’t make any noise I would guess a wrong wire was disconnected or reconnected incorrectly.

Mine Locked and unlocked with the power lock on the doors. Or you can use the key on the tailgate.

Well I have the same problem in my 97 blazer I can't get my tail gate down

I had to crawl in the back and pull the plastic back so I could trigger the latch. It was a pain but not the worst thing I’ve ever done.

@@JustinG9698 I had to do this on my GF's 06 Town & Country.......at least dodge let me pull the whole door panel off the hatch with it still shut.

Sorry man. I recorder it but you couldn’t see anything I did. Basically I just pried on the plastic enough to reach in and flip the lever. It’s a huge pain in the butt and took me like 15-20 minutes to do.

Andrew yea man it’s insane. You’d think they’d make it easier to release in this scenario. With the window toward the end of the video you can kinda see where I accidentally cracked my plastic. That’s where I had a screw driver Prying on it and got it back enough to squeeze my hand down in there. From there Below and a little to the right is a square whole. There’s a rod in there I wanna say push it toward the passenger side but I’m not 100% sure. That should pop your glass.
