Keeping the stove in good working and safe condition is probably one of the most important jobs on a narrowboat as CO is a big killer - nice work !

The stove looked as good as new when you’d finished. I’m glad you gave it a new lease of life instead of replacing it 👍🏻👏🏻

Thank you - yes, we're really pleased with the result. Not that we need the stove at the moment, but come autumn, we'll be glad of it :)

It’s very satisfying when you can do a job yourselves. Well done.

Be careful cleaning your stove with a dyson! I'm not sure if the battery versions are affected, but the tiniest traces of ash and / or soot can kill the mains powered ones in seconds. Dyson specifically mention not using them for such purposes, and I have killed one simply sucking about an eggcup full of spilled ash and soot from a hearth.

Hi Bears, just came over from a link on David's channel, you know him, "Mooring the Cut" LOL Well the Girls like to call it that ;) Good job with the stove, I bet you get many good years out of that stove after that little bit of TLC. That was way dangerous how the back piece had burnt out. Nasty stuff that Co2. Sigh. Really enjoyed seeing the 3 of you travelling around the canal network. Where are you planning on heading to for your next journey? PS, I have just Subscribed and I see that I was #492, you're almost up to the Magic 500. How exciting for your channel!

Well done, chaps. Hope your poor pooch got a walk, eventually. ;)

Yes, he got his walk before dinner, as usual :) He wouldn't let us get away without :)

Nice vlog, if you are tempted to do it again, wear gloves when handling stove rope and glue...they contain silica which is an irritant. Also be careful sawing fire bricks, they also contain silica which is not nice if breathed in..

Thanks for viewing, and for the advice. Good tip - we have just got some nitrile gloves, and will be using them next time, and for other jobs around the boat.
