So if a core o2j and a donor 02s was sent to you. What would you charge to do it again in labor?

Labor wise, probably $600. Then you also need to add the cost of the limited slip, a few new bearings (differential and pinion bearings at a minimum) and new seals. Unless I can find someone who can accurately mill down the original diff to accept the speedo gear for reasonable money, the limited slip swap is a must. Besides, they're much more durable and make the car handle better as well as have better traction in slippery conditions.

Hello, How do I get in contact with you. I would like to have you build ones of these same transmissions for my 2003 jetta tdi that currently has a stock 02j. I'd like a price with you supplying the donor transmissions and also a price if I source and send the donor transmissions. Thank you.

Sure. I'm now doing rebuilds for Cascade German. If you want, you can email them at info at cascadegerman.com I'll see what I can do to work up an estimate on what it takes to replicate this. Though I will also point you to TDIClub. I made a thread there (username Matt-98AHU) about the build. According to some, there is a way to hack the instrument cluster and ECM to pick up the vehicle speed signal from CAN bus, generated by the ABS module. If you can do that, you can actually bolt the transmission in as it is without having to retrofit the 02J bellhousing. The other catch being that there won't be a TDC pointer hole for doing the timing belt. I can drill a hole in the approximate location, but there won't be a pointer in the bellhousing casting to point at the exact spot.

As in just building the transmission? Guess that depends. What is it going into? Can you provide a 02J core as well as the 02S to merge together, or do you want to pay me to do that as well?
