Watching you change out the stator just reminds me once again that when I was in high school, 65 + years ago, I should have taken a mechanics and an electronics course as two of my optional courses with the compulsory classes. Instead I studied chemistry, physics, biology and geography. If I had taken those two courses I would have been able to do more work myself and understood better the explanations given to me by shop mechanics. I had to trade in my first C 90 after 165,000 km due to stator issues but I liked the bike so much I bought another three years later and that is what I'm presently riding.

Nice video . would like to seen the colors of the factory wires to do the mod ? .
@amidwestfamily1122 жыл бұрын
Sorry about that, you can kinda see the factory wires off the regulator is black 3 solid black wires that connect to the 3 white wire from the stator. The 2 black wire with red stripes get wired to the positive post on the battery with an inline fuse. The 2 black wires get wired to the negative post on the battery. Thus is just a general description on what it is I did the modification long before I started making videos. Hope this kinda helps, if there is any interest in how I did the modification I can try to do a video on that in the future.

Greetings...Thanks for the video!! 👍👍 I recently changed mine but 1 of the alignment bearings/sleeves dropped into the oil that was drained. I'm not sure which one. I assembled the whole thing without this. It rides and drives just fine, except the shifter hangs up occasionally on the upshift (it might be the torque spec for the shifter?). Do I need to take it apart again just to replace this, or can I let it go? 40k mi. Appreciate your thoughts... John B.
@amidwestfamily11211 ай бұрын
John, They are aliment pins that aline the cover and gasket for proper alignment and spacing. So with that being said I would recommend taking the cover back off and putting the pin in. But that is ultimately up to you it could be fine but I always go back to the fact that it was there for a reason so it is probably important to have. Thank you for watching and ride safe!

I'm kind of baffled right now also mad sure that washer was put back on. what are your thoughts
@amidwestfamily1123 жыл бұрын
Does it turn over or do you have no power? How are the battery connections the connections have to be really clean and really tight. Have you checked your fuses? Did you put enough oil in? Did you check the connections to the harness to make sure they are plugged in all the way? Is your battery good and fully charged?
@madderrasmaddness24333 жыл бұрын
@@amidwestfamily112 Thanks for the reply yes the battery is good and when I try to star it the headlight goes dim and no starter noise. I'm freaking out right now because I don't want to pull the stator cover back off because it went on so well. So I guess I'll have to back track the connections under the tank fill. any thoughts?

@@madderrasmaddness2433 I would double check your connections first. Double check and make sure your battery is fully charged. These bikes are very finicky about needing a fully charged battery. Have you checked the auto decomposition valve? If that is out of adjustment it will prevent mine from starting. If you put it in gear and rock it back a bit to try and turn the motor over a little. Then put it back in neutral and try to start it again. Hopefully this helps
