I have the same car, but a petrol model. It is my first car and I bought it about 9 months ago. I must say I never, ever had any interest in cars. ...until I saw your videos about changing the air & oil filters of one of your other cars. I did not want to go to the mechanic all the time as they are quite expensive in my country. Funny thing is, your videos motivated me to start working and fixing stuff in my own car. 9 months later I have replaced bearings, engine mounts and done all kinds of other repairs. The car is 13 years old and now drives even better and smoother than most newer vehicles my friends and colleagues are driving! Thanks and keep up the videos. I always enjoy watching them and I have discovered a new passion😊

I took another look at this situation and once I’m back with the car (in April) I’m going to just shove a wad of some kind of water permeable ‘fabric’ into that drain hole and ignore the flap - it can hang there wide open or close as much as it will. The goal will be to make it harder/impossible for gases to enter/be drawn in from the engine bay, while still allowing water to percolate through the new permeable blockage; and thus not eliminate drainage. I’ll let you know if it works. I think it should. If it doesn’t I’ll summon the car to my office for a right dressing down😁

@@Fusion20077 Give it a damm good thrashing!! Let me know how it works please. It's worth a try, but to my mind, if water can get though, so can air.

Delayed getting back to where the car is until early May - haven’t forgotten! Cheers👍
