Yo man! Thx for the instructional videos…helped me a TON on my first small motor rebuild. Mine was a similar deal but had steel shrapnel. So did a little more cleaning, replaced oil pump, a few bearings & honed cylinder. Not being “self calibrated” haha, I torqued everything to spec and she fired right up after assembly….awww yea! Just did my break in ride and she pulls hard and smooth. Thx my dude 🤙

@@UpAllNight91 Thank you very much for this very detailed video. I'm wondering if you happen to know what locking washer goes on the main crank same side as counter balancer side. I've checked the manual to reference the part number but it doesn't even show that locking washer in the part diagram. I also contacted my local yamaha supplier and they can't find anything on it as well. If you happen to know it would be much appreciated 👍

@UpAllNight91 Жыл бұрын
I would pull the oil pump out and open it, check it out. But most likely it might be just a good idea to replace it to be sure. It is the heart of the motor.

Thanks for watching! I usually get most my parts from rockeymountainavt, I also use motosport, partzilla, and can't forget ebay even. They do sell complete kits like hot rods and wiseco. But you can also pick through the oem parts section on these sites and use OEM parts as well. With OEM stuff its usually not in a kit so you gotta pretty much plug it all together

I have a question there where a bit of shavings in my oil filter so I disassembled the top end and saw that my crank is stiff so I will replace that and I was wondering if I should replace my oil pump too it’s a 2007 yfz450 and it has that oil squirt thing
@UpAllNight91 Жыл бұрын
Hello. I would suggest at least pulling the oil pump out and checking it. If it shows signs of wear or if you find metal in the pump then yes replace it. But if it looks clean and shows no wear then it can be re used.

You sure it’s an 08? 04-06 didn’t have the oil nozzle they made it in the 07 and up. I have an 06 I’m doing the oil upgrade/update whatever you wanna call it where you put that in yourself but you have to mill or drill the case and change out the oil pump
@UpAllNight912 жыл бұрын
He told me it was a 2008 but it surely looks to be a 2007. I always heard of people doing that mod to the yfz450. I would surely want oil shooting up at the piston
