I could just sit and listen to that thing run and be perfectly happy, lol.... Good to hear that the motor didn't get cooked when the water and oil pump wasn't running. Although I think it's neat that such an engine is available, there seems to be a lot of engineering fails with it out of the box. Perfect content for you! But I'd be upset if I bought one of these and had this many problems. Sounds great with the new headers though! Nice job

I believe the reason for slot of these fails is that these kits are usually sold to be a display piece, that can be capable of running, not as an actual motor designed to run, this why so much stuff usually has to be redesigned for it to run reliably, but I agree, for the price of it they should be designed much better

Exhaust length and presence of crossover such as H or X pipe have a big effect on sound. It would be an amazing thing to experiment with tuning the exhaust to get different tones from the engine.

@matthewmondragon2074 Жыл бұрын
Could be, however the important part is trhowing away the gases to the the cylinders more cleaner, if we focused much into the sound some of the gas could be still stuck and mess the combustion, thats why most of perfomance/racing exaust pipes have bigger diameter, and the sound? Well is secondary. Could be great if its try replic or make similar to the Ford GT40's exaust type, to start it simple.
@exoticcreature3059 Жыл бұрын
I don't doubt that sir but the H and X pipe less effect on sound that's you think due to the fact that the header primary length is fixed in the and so is the engines firing interval. Those two factors didctate sound the most. H and X pipes are mostly for scavenging and balancing pressure differential of the exhaust between both cylinder banks. Messing with the header primary lengths, such as using unequal length headers, will have more impact on sound because you change the timing at which the exhaust pulses from the cylinders meet each other, and whether they collide or not. 180 degree headers would be a prime example of this.

Trick dad used to tune the collector length (1/4mi drag race) ... Make a crayon mark down the pipe, go make a pass down the lane, cut the pipe off where the crayon burned off.
@NOTTApro142 Жыл бұрын
I bet with the better flowing exhausts it’ll run much better. But if you make multiple of different header diameters you can adjust how much torque, or how much power you want. That’s what they do in Indycar, and almost everything!

Well alrighty then. I think I'm in love. That sounds fantastic! Love the headers and muffler combo. Looks fantastic and sounds even better. Johnny You advance the timing by moving the rotor arm relative to the inlet cam. I had to do this but it means drilling and tapping a new hole in the rotor arm and grinding a new flat on the cam.I`m setting mine to 25* BTDC. As it comes from Enjomor mine was 5* ATDC which is no use at all.Also changing the hole size in the carb feed won`t do anything. The carbs will never flow enough fuel to warrant equal size holes. Lastly the cam timing and valve clearances need carefully correcting. Both are wrong on mine.
