Bought 6 Pocher kits 20 years ago to build during retirement. It’s time. Took a look. I’m going to need 20 more years. Starting with this Fiat. It looks elementary compared to the others.

Yes, it's the simplest of them all, but still needs a lot of work for everything to fit right

The Fiat is unquestionably the simplest to build - 857 parts. If you bought the Mercedes 500K Roadster, then you will have a long term project in building and painting it. Mine took me one and a half years to complete and I am an experienced modeler. I believe the parts count was 2,364 pieces! My now, ex wife cut and sewed the fabric top for me - nicest thing she ever did ! Constructing the wire wheels, one spoke at a time requires a good deal of patience, but it can be done. There are 6 of them in this kit - 2 spares. Have fun!

Thank you my friend, it isn't the best kit I've seen though

Very nicely finished! Guarantee it's better than the actual car was. I built two of them, giving one to a good agent of mine while I was working in insurance in Florida during the 70s. I gave it to him because I thought a lot of him, but also because I saw it in a K-Mart for around $35-$40! The original list price was about $120 or so and I wanted to build it again with even more detail. The importer unloaded a bunch of them to quickly clear their inventory - financial troubles. Wish now that I had bought them all, but hind sight is 20/20 as they say. I found some mahogany veneer that looked much better than the molded plastic floor and dash. I also found some flat, white elastic cord and wrapped the leaf springs to replicate the stone guards they used back then. Very tedious work building those small chains but the look is very real. Had to replace all the leather straps as they just dry rotted with age. I am looking at it now as I make this entry and it still looks sweet, some 46 years later! 😀

Thank you very much I didn't add much detail because the owner wanted it OOB; floor the floor I tried to replicate the wood the best I could; fortunately the leather stripes were still in good condition. It looks good, but I'm still not very convinced about the wheels, they look very toyish

@@TMModelkits - I know what you mean about the wheels. I ended up painting the rims red except the inside where the wooden spokes meet it. That area and the spokes I did in yellow, but did a reddish / brown wash over it and it came out looking quite nice. Good luck!

@@Loulovesspeed I just clear coated them and in the end, they still looked a bunch of round plastic; I believe they were made out of wood

@@TMModelkits - Yes, the actual car had wood spoke wheels set into metal rims. The Pocher model of course just used plastic. That is why I washed it with a reddish brown mixture to replicate real wood.
