2:12 The best weed for the liver
2:26 How to eat dandelion greens
In this video, we’re going to talk about a common weed that may help reverse liver damage. This weed may help assist with inflammation of the liver and may even help reverse cirrhosis.
Weeds are actually herbs! This herb was used in Egypt, China, and Rome and has been used for thousands of years. The English folk name for this herb is “piss-a-bed” because it acts as a potent diuretic.
This wild herb has the following incredible potential health benefits:
• Decreases the accumulation of fat on the liver
• Suppresses lipid accumulation
• Decreases glucose levels
• Decreases insulin
• Improves insulin resistance
• Improves HOMA-IR test results
• Increases flow of bile from the liver
• Improves digestion and fat-soluble vitamin absorption
The herb we’re talking about is dandelion! You can eat dandelion greens and flowers to get these amazing health benefits. You can try a dandelion salad or incorporate a few dandelions into your greens mix. Dandelion greens can also be roasted or sautéed.

As a beekeeper, I wish that people would stop trying to poison dandelions. Bees love dandelions and the nectar from dandelions produces a light yellow, very delicate flavored honey. Dandelions are an important early nectar source. Even if you don't eat honey, the bees need nutrition before they can pollinate the fruits and vegetables that come later in the year.

During the pandemic, I suddenly began harvesting dandelion leaves from our back garden (which has NEVER, since we've been in this house (1972), seen chemicals) ... and putting them in my salads (a small handful, chopped very fine and mixed with lots of other herbs and greens). Later, I cooked up a huge batch and ate them along with tiny new potatoes and garlic infused E.V.Olive Oil and French sea salt. DELICIOUS!!! I have never had covid (and am un-vaxxed).

@@jenniferrevilla5298 Oh, wow! That sounds WONDERFUL! Thank you!! (Do you have a link to a recipe you really like? I'd love to have it if you do). And the season for the flowers is amazingly short, considering how, in our minds (in the past) we thought they were a scourge on the landscape! The ones that come in right after (that people mistake for dandelions), the Sow Thistle, seem to last forever.

we did eat it back in former yugoslavia (at least in the parts of the country my parents were from). we ate it as a normal salad, but would put one or two boiled potato into it to soften it up. it was great as a salad. having said that, living in (quite polluted) city wasn't exactly conductive to having it regularly - my dad would only collect it in the early spring. during the war we learned one interesting lesson: humans can eat everything pigs can it (as far as plants are concerned at least). the problem there is knowing what pigs eat.

the thing about Dandelions is... they are real nutrient tubes. Their roots go deep into the ground and suck nutrients from older, less-deplenished soil. So even if you're not going to eat them, just letting them grow until they wilt is great -- just mulch whatever you mow. They're not only the best food, they're also the very best fertilizer!

@@chelseaandhobbes Both, depending on what you have. But it's probably best to dehydrate if you can. Also, rinse them off before soaking.
