I'm a 60 yr old tomboy. Athletic, taught P.E. and Science. I have super high arches, heel spurs, many breaks that had zero medical intervention (poor college kid), I can hardly walk, now. I would beg for shots for the heel spurs. 10 seconds of pain for 3 months of relief. Then, my the ball of both of my feet hurt sooo badly. I also wore inserts as a young kid cuz I walked funny. I have arthritis, big bunions, old ankle breaks...so bad that I threw up bcuz of the pain. It's just crazy...an elite athlete than can barely walk, now. No-one seems to understand. So glad I found your channel. TY! ❤

I would start by imaging the ligaments and muscles of the foot and comparing to the baselines, there is almost always a solution to this type of overload. I wish I could help out more! ❤️😊🙏

@@DrTomBiernacki Omg, thank you! I went to a podiatrist, had x-rays. Showed old breaks and much more, but still my GP doesn't understand. I've begged to get imaging done, but the cost. Also have neuropathy, muscle fascinations 24/7...you can see them, mostly feet, even the bottom...much more. I dislike complaining, but these are facts. Thank you so much for responding! I will ask my GP to have that done. I keep getting told (by 3 neurologists) that I have Fibromyalgia. I call BS. They didn't even touch/look at my feet. Just asked questions. And zapped me...said I was fine. Oh, the frustration. Thank you SO MUCH for your help! ❤️

Dr.Biernacki, my left big toe has MTP joint pain that is bad all day whether i move it or not. Wakes me up at night. 4 MN podiatrists, one ortho, one rheumatologist, 2 MRIs, xrays. They all claim no gout yet no one has a clue how to solve it. Just hurts so bad.. No spurs, swelling, etc. Edema from gaba they prescribed but went off that. Any chance you could tell me your thoughts on this please? 50y male. Sit a lot, no sports, etc. its basically shut down my life due to pain. Thanks!

I’m a big runner, I’ve done two marathons and am training for my third. I’m having pain around the big toe joint and can’t determine if it’s turf toe or sesamoiditis. The pain is extremely mild. Only hurts when I really am pressing down on the joint. I felt it really hurt initially while doing the downward dog in yoga. What would you recommend/think?

I think I have sesamoiditis grade 1 after running. I suppose I have increased my milage to fast. Been using barefoot shoes for a year (not for running), and I seen no major weakness in my feet. I have an appointment at my local physio, and might to my GP for a ultra sound or MRI if the physio recommend it. But what would you say; if it is sesamoiditis grade 1; would be ok do do? Could I do exercises, and even short runs (maybe with orthotics or taped) as long as I am pain free (or like 3 of 10), or should I stay way from even pain free exercises for a while? My experience is that the best treatment for other similar injuries (tendonitis and runners knee) has been to just build strength, as the most likely reason is some kind of weakness in supporting/surrounding muscles. Any thoughts?

Hello Doctor i got turf toe in a soccer game 3 weeks ago (grade 2 i think) and in the beginning i couldnt figure out what the problem was, i thought maybe i had broken my toe or maybe just sprained but after some research turf toe is definitely what i have, the pain is a little less now but i am still not able to play due to pain in the toe when it stretches up and also pain on the inside of the foot. my question is this, should i be trying to stretch the toe more and more to kind of get the toe more used to it or should i be doing everything i can to make sure the toe dosent stretch until i can do it without any pain? i can walk almost normal with just a little pain when it stretches but running i almost cant do. sorry for not great english.
