This is the best instruction ever! I put this into my pre-shot routine on every shot. I normally score in the low 80s. Doing this on every shot as a pre-shot routine, I shot a 70 for the first time in my life - 4 under on the front 9. I've followed all your videos, and have learned much. This one made an especially big difference.

Very good tip! I'll definitely try this. BTW, I've taken lessons from Erika Larkin and have known her for years now, she lives right around the corner from me. Great teacher, great lady.

This is much simpler than the solution I'd been considering - having a few tendons in my right arm surgically severed.

You make it look so simple and in reality it is. I am going to incorporate swinging with club between my fingers on the right hand. I notice that when I tend to cast that my right hand grip seems to go from loose to gripping the club like I'm trying to squeeze the life out of the club. Well presented video and gives me something to work on over the Winter months.

Nice👍 Amazing ,the degree the two sides will fight for control when hands are gripped together.

Love this lesson. At 54, having played golf 20 years and stuck at HI of 15, I have always aimed at the ball. Not sure I can change it.

Hi Adam, that is such a brilliant drill , as soon as my cut foot will allow, I’ll be at the range trying this. It did get me thinking, the right hand can be responsible for a lot in the golf swing, is it likely this drill will reduce or stop being over the top? Thanks for the video.

Hi Adam, I really like your golf tips !!! There is one very important issue with your microphone, you have it set too high and are not getting the best sound. I am a filmmaker and would suggest bringing down the decibels (dB) to get a great voice :)

When you say you feel play in the club? Do you mean that a looser grip
@Scratchgolfacademy3 жыл бұрын
Keith, I mean the shaft loading, or wrist angle increasing as the downswing starts. You need some grip pressure, but loose wrists Best, Adam

I don’t think I cast too much, but that’s the first time I’ve seen “the claw”. I’ll give it a try.

Love your content but I completely disagree with this "feel". I think getting the right elbow inside, and under the lead elbow threw trough impact is a better feel to help eliminate casting (storing lag/energy). Training with your power hand off the club might stop the casting, but, and from my experience teaching, it gives a false sense of lead arm pulling the club through impact. Love your content though. Big fan! I am a huge fan of single arm swings with a proper grip and turn to create this same thought.

Fair enough Richard, and I happen to agree. It’s more about coming up with content that offers people fresh ideas, less about bedrock principles All the best, Adam

I tend to cast as well, I believe it’s due to tension in my wrists (and other things as well), as my wrists are always sore after playing. I like this drill though. Will try.
