Wow! That’s a world shaking medical video! From my long, painful experience on crutches with gout, the carnivore diet cleared it up to the point of being able to run and stop regular medication. For me, gout is like type 3 diabetes! Congratulations on this outstanding video showing a true professional medical scholar with the humility and wisdom to change decades of wrong thinking into something that will benefit patients. Respect! 👍

I used to keep Vienna Sausage on hand as a snack, ate a can probably daily. Then my big toe became painful. I knew what gout was from coworkers, I cut the sausages out, the pain stopped. I can only guess it was gout, I never even looked at the ingredients - guessing it’s one of the most highly processed unhealthy foods.

I agree! I started juicing for a few months and i was drinking alcohol daily for about a week. I drank a whole bottle of 100% cranberry juice and woke up the next day with the worst gout attack ever. My big toe swoll up 3 times the size. It took about 3 months for this attack to pass and my toes never turned back to normal. I stopped juicing, no seafood. Now i have cut sugar.

Well, I guess I'm one of those rare cases in which meats, seafood and aged cheeses have a profound negative effect on my gout. I take allopurinol regularly and have for some years, but I went on the carnivore diet about a year ago - absolutely loved it with mutitudes of positive effect along with weight loss. But then my gout exploded. I don't eat any sugar or HFS and haven't for years, don't eat fried foods nor drink beer, and yet the carnivore diet issued in the MOST intense and longest gout attack I've ever had. 😞 I went 90% vegan a few weeks ago and for the first time in 9 months, the gout pain subsided.

Joint pain could be because of oxalates too...
@paulcampbell8407 ай бұрын
Well, they wouldn't call it pseudo-gout or false gout if oxalates couldn't mimic the gout symptoms. For either uric acid or oxalates, drinking a moderate amount of extra water helps to flush the problem away.

When you feel the pain is about to start. Those who suffer are normaly aware of this, take a big teaspoon of baking powder, say 2 or 3 times a day mixed in say 1/4 pint of water, stir well and take for 3/5 days till the feeling has passed. Tastes crap but it does the trick. If you have a lump on our foot/big toe, as I had for many many years, STOP eating tomatoes. Takes a few months but in my case it's down to 20% now. Pity, I love tomotoes.

As somebody who spent every step for eight years in afo braces that did not fit, gout was one of several early misdiagnosis. I was 360 lbs when I had foot problems which I suspect in hindsight we're one of the three types of tendinopathy. I was issued a cam boot which I wore for about 6 months until a weight-bearing x-ray revealed I had a talon navicular calcaneal cuboid joint dislocation (which was not dislocated before I started wearing the cam boot) and I was booked for surgery as a first option; having a hip and femur placement on the contralateral leg I was concerned about having surgery having several other comorbidities, congestive heart failure, neuropathy, diabetes, it didn't seem safe. Two doctors said it would be safe and three doctors said there was a good chance I would lose my leg if I went ahead with surgery. I was told I had charcot foot which was a strange mysterious disease to me at the time. I conceded all of my physical instinct and intuition acquired by playing sports all my life to the doctor's opinion when they said the pain and swelling were due to charcoal foot. I realized today after 8 years, and 12 different braces that did not fit. The braces caused wounds on my toes. I went to the urgent care facility and they said I had deep vein thrombosis and sent me to the emergency room, it turned out to be cellulitis, so it cost me over $5,000 to have the emergency room write me a prescription for antibiotics. After 8 years and many, many prescriptions for antibiotics, I went to Big 5 sporting goods and tried on an over the counter orthotic and I immediately realized that not one of the custom afo braces that had been prescribed for me actually fit my feet. After 2 and a half years of trying every variation of orthotic I could find, high arch, medium Arch, low Arch I realized that my feet do not respond well to orthotics. I could go on forever trying to explain this 10-year nightmare so I'll just stop short and say today I am 180 lb in a pair of Altras, no orthotics and I'm working out and walking several miles on a daily basis. The intense swelling has disappeared, my comorbidities have disappeared. The key is diet, eliminate seed oils, eliminate flour, reduce refined sugars and grains. I am learning all this stuff through doctors like you on KZbin thank you for doing what you do 🦋👣

An important question is, how much of this added sugar are we choosing to eat and how much is being slipped into our diets without our knowledge? Our food system in the western world has been hijacked by corporate interests who only care, I repeat, ONLY care about making money.
