I’m just in love with Granny Pat. She is engaging, entertaining, educational, and just warms my heart. Not only she is showing interesting, fascinating pieces of the past, relics of a life few of us knew, but she shows such attention to detail. A true gift she is, and I am so glad I found her. I hope to see more of her treasures, hear more stories, and learn from her. ❤️

I resoundingly agree, you expressed my sentiments about her precisely. She is the sort of reason following things such as KZbin can be a a GIFT. She shares SO MUCH that is an enrichment for me, my ideas and thoughts are very similar to hers. I LOVE the stories of yard sale adventures, travels and well, just about everything she shares. Especially when she has a full posting about her ‘little things’, her treasures. We have all been gifted something VERY SPECIAL in Granny Pat 💞🥲😊!

May 24,2023…3:43 pm. I just want to thank you for sharing all of your treasures. I am 74 and many of those treasures that you have. I remember my grandmother having them, my mother having them and some of these things I have now. I got them from my family members who lived and died many years ago. I treasure all of these things that most people today would not even bother. But to me they remind me of times when I was very young. I Collett memory lane. Now that I’m older, I go there often to memory Lane. And I have all my old things around That I refer to lovingly as my treasures. Yes, my kids and grandkids for the most part think I’m crazy because I have such fond memories of the times when I was a young girl. It’s too bad that they can’t understand. But someday in the future, they will remember me sharing these times with them. Just as you are sharing these times with everybody today. Thank you so much for your kindness and taking everybody back in time and me to memory Lane.

Oh Granny Pat as someone who treasures things from the past, I so enjoyed every moment of this❤. I’m 65 and care for my momma with Alzheimer’s. She is two years younger than you and though she is getting much worse these past few months, one of my favorite things to do to calm her is to have her look through her old blanket chests. I don’t think she’s ever got rid of anything and though she doesn’t remember a thing I said two seconds ago, she can tell me about the things in her cedar chest and things tucked away. I’ve always loved old things, even have chenille bedspreads on beds in my home and this was so interesting and fun to hear about these treasures❤

I had a pair of white cotton gloves that were reserved for church when I was a little girl. I loved them so much. I also had a pair of elbow length silk gloves I wore to prom. Never had occasion to wear them again. LOL! We were really poor when I was a kid so, unfortunately, no chenille bedspreads for us. We had those stiff, scratchy, wool ARMY surplus blankets (and no top sheets). I'm allergic to wool til this day! And our blue and white ticked pillows were flat as a pancake - had one and only one the entire time I was growing up. There were few comforts in our modest home. I was gifted a white pearl clutch at my wedding shower and I used it for almost all formal occasions thereafter. I also had a black silk-like one with a rhinestone clasp that I totally loved. What a gorgeous photo of your sister, Pat. I remember how heavy the pearl covered collar I wore over my sweater sets was. Did you have a bolero jacket and shirtwaist dresses? Wish I had that figure again! I absolutely love your flower basket quilt. I hope you have time to read this post since it's so long after you made the video but I felt I had to respond to it.

In the eyes of any true collector of fine bygone day treasures the word “clutter” does not exist. In recent months I was fortunate to acquire some beautiful table linens some of which were hand embroidered. They were my grandmother’s that were her prized possessions in the early 1900s. Some are so large that they would cover a bed and often do at my home. Others I am saving that have rich embossment on the linen that I hope to quilt and pass on to my grandchildren. Everything is so disposable today that children do not get a chance to appreciate their rich heritage especially in the textile industry. Thank you for the delightful show and tell.

Wow! Granny Pat, you have some of The most exquisite linen heirlooms l have ever laid my eyes on. I have had several chenille bedspreads. One l still own is solid white, but has so many holes in it and l still cannot find it in my heart to throw it away. It was well loved, for sure. It was my favorite summer bedspread. Btw, l love your cherry bedstead too. I saw it and was instantly reminded of my mother. In the end, l was supposed to inherit it from her, but my brother was very careless with it, so it was broken so badly that no one got to have it. Im the youngest of twelve children. There was bad blood between most of my siblings and that brother where mother chose to live out her final days on earth and he made sure that none of us got anything. Her stuff was not worth having. He wanted his wife to get a childs part for taking care of mom for like ten years. We all vetoed that motion! She got a two story brand new brick house! We each only got a little money. Only Sadness comes to some big families in the end. Our mom, the glue that held our family together was gone for good. Sorry bout my sad story. Hope it doesnt depress you too much. But God bless you granny pat for always bringing us such delightful stories and memories in such a sweet voice. You are a treasure. I just love you so, and enjoy every video you make. You amaze me. Love and hugs from Marsha raised as a Georgia peach on a farm before l trabsplanted to Texas (netx). May God coninue to bless you to bring us more videos and memories.❤❤

P.S. i have a quilt mom made and she called it grandmas flower garden. Every stitch was done by hand on every single quilt she ever made. I still have the queen sized quilt mom made for my new bedroom suite l bought for myself after high school. Its called "step around the mountain" it started with one piece of material that repeated in every row but only once each row. I wish l could show it to you, but idk how to send pics here. My favorite quilt was a navy and light green "oriental fan" quilt that we lost while moving a piece of furniture about ten years ago. It flew out the back of my husbands truck, but we did not realize it until we got back home. Mom had a deep wooden quilt chest that she kept her quilts and quilttops stored in. Our favorite pastime was going thru that box and admiring all of her hand stitching and the patterns of each one when we visited with her in her final days. It was always noticeable to each of her girls that the collection was getting smaller on each visit cause she would let us pick our favorite and carry it home with us. I stull have onw top that l need to get quilted somewhere in my house. Just down the road at our vfd there is a clubhouse where four elderly ladies still gather on Wednesdays to quilt. Those were the good old days right there.❤❤🎉

October 29, 2024 Hi Granny Pat! I’m watching your video #10. I LOVE your basket quilt!!! I never saw one like it! It is beautiful. Thank you so much for showing us all of your treasures!!! Due to a lung infection, I do not have long to live, and my family wants me to get rid of my collections, but it is hard to part with them. I am enjoying watching you with all of your beautiful things. And I might do like you suggested and save some of my treasures. Love you and your videos. You keep me happy! ❤😊

@@heatheredwards7923 I told my daughter I would label certain items to be kept in the family. Also, ‘they’ could take smaller items they wanted before I die. The rest they could sell,or give away when I am gone.

That is a great idea. They tell me they don’t want anything, but they might change their minds later.😊

@ They WILL change their minds. I’m already seeing it in my daughter.

I do wish they would pick out things they want now, because it would be more fun for me to give them to them early when I can see what they like. But I guess it doesn’t matter that much. I have made, sold, and collected beaded jewelry too, like you. I enjoyed doing that so much!

@@heatheredwards7923 I went to church with my daughter Sunday morning. She was wearing a necklace and earrings I had made. You see, they can surprise us sometimes!
