got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on AMZWATCH 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.

@@tatarugabriel4328 I’ve been stuck there myself for over a year. I think I made the right choice with going with Dark Bezel Pepsi Cronos. Main reason is that I like the bezel colour more and it’s more authentic to the Rolex GMT. Plus the GMT hand is not all red which I preferred. That said, I also got the San Martin Hulk Homage Sn0017 and I love it. Wait for the big sale and check the store for additional coupons.

Cheeky *and* brutal at once, as you do, Andrew. Also, major props for a detail that chaps my hide with other YT watch folk: making the point that Zenith's EL Primero was the first-ever automatic chronograph put into serial production with an *integrated* chono movement. Seiko fanboy that I am, I usually like to point out that as far as auto chronos of any category are concerned, Seiko beat out everyone by several months with their 6139 with its modular movement. I'll see myself out...

I’ve always tried to try to put myself in period correct perspective as I try to make sense how brands sit against each other in the past. For the ETA/SW movements you get, for homages you have to consider Steinhart. They need micro adjust clasps but that's about all. CW uses similar movements and are 4x the price. Another one, the Watchdives Sam Martin colab Pelegos 39mm titanium is better than the real one, albeit the movement.

People get bent out of shape about water resistence; however, a large volume of Swiss cases are made in China, it's not a high-tech exercise, and putting o-rings in a case and crown isnot difficult Also, if you search, you can find people who have pressure tested these things.

Tactical Frog. Oh dear, these Chinese watch brands really need to employ a native English speaker to come up with a brand name. There is also the hilariously named Tandorio, the ideal watch to wear down the curry house on a friday night. Having said that, the likes of San Martin and Cronos are producing astonishly well made and finished watches at around £200, they're in a different world from the Argos bargain bucket specials and the plastic Moonswatch atrocity.

Andrew, Andrew, Andrew . . . speaking as a Chinese watch fan (i have seven) -- and convert from Swiss and Japanese brands -- i think that you have missed the point about them from a consumer perspective. The elephant-in-the-room is serviceability (or rather the lack thereof). These days when local all-brand watchmakers have disappeared in advanced countries (or, more accurately, devote their attention towards upper watches), this is a real issue for brands that have no in-country ADs. I prefer Chinese watches in the $200-$350 tier simply because they can be serviced with a round-trip to Guandong and $130 or so. Initial build quality is better too; i've had good luck with Cronos and San Martin. Obviously that isn't attractive for cheaper ones, even if offered. Sadly, the lovely ST190x Sea-Gull movement chronos are economically throw-away watches too (and they fail at a fair rate). Perhaps a more targeted podcast on this market would be helpful? -- gary ray

A 100m WR is not because of people are all skilled divers but instead that you can go swimming without ruining your watch. A 50m WR is even not suitable for a shower, let alone a 30m WR. Better take it off while washing hands and not using in hot summer days because of sweat. Water resistance has more to do with everyday life than you may think.
