Hi, Dead was a vocalist, not a drummer, otherwise quite cool video. Interesting fact, while Mayhem is norwegian band, Dead is from Sweden. You should mention arsons around Mayhem and Burzum in early ninenties, overally Varg Vikernes is very interesting figure in metal scene. It is worth qualifying that first wave of true norwegian black metal scene (TNBM) had nothing to do with satanism, it was only used for fun. I personally think the fate of black metal should have been simillar to graffiti, because graffiti is vandalism, but nowadays is seen more as a artform, while arsons in TNBM are in a way vandalism too, only the destruction of cultural heritage is absolute in this case, and it is nowhere close to be art. :D Varg, who killed Euronymous in self-defence was sentenced to jail for 21 years but was let out in 15 i believe. And it is not murder he was in jail for, which many people think, it's the arson, he burned a church in Bergen and photo of the burned down church is on his "Aske" EP cover. Nowadays, he lives in France with his wife and I believe 2 or 3 children. He has youtube channel "Thulean Perspective" and doesn't do metal music anymore, he does something like ambient, but it's boring (personal opinion). In prison he couldn't use guitars, so he made two albums (Hlidskjalf and Daudi Baldrs) which he played on cheap synthetiser. While those two albums are ambient too, these are very powerful and moving, so dark, the stuff nowadays is just plain boring for me. Last two fun facts, his original name was Kristian, he changed that to Varg, which means "wolf", and while he is part of TNBM scene, he himself claims he never played black metal music and that Euronymous stole his playing style idea and based black metal upon it. I hope someone's gonna read it. :D Correct me if I'm wrong please.

+Andrew Deer I believe "Self-defence" is a stretch when he stabbed him 46 times, where most of the stabwounds were not located on the front of the body. Dead was indead swedish, but he had resided in Norway for many years prior to the forming of Mayhem

+worbalism I wouldn't say he needed to gain Kudos (I had to google...), he probably didn't need to do such thing, after all it was him who burnt the first church. Stabbings in the back were because, as Varg stated, Euronymous had a shotgun in his bedroom and turned away from Varg to get it. Whether that's true or not we will never know, but this is the closest we get to truth.

+Goblin King It's a bit misinformed though. Per 'Dead' Ohlin was their vocalist, not their drummer. He allegedly suffered from Cotard's delusion, which is why he had this obsession with Death. His suicide note wasn't "Sorry for all the blood", the full one can be found with a quick google search and is a bit...more intimate. Also Jared's pronounciation of Euronymous was just plain old silly though. If you really want a fun story behind an album, read up on StalagGH's Projekt Misanthropia

+Wojciech B Varg played bass on "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas", so yes, he was a member of Mayhem. From '92-'93 actually. Hellhammer even refused to take him out of the mix despite Euronymous' family asking him to because he considered it appropriate that the murderer and murder victim be on the same album. He's just not in the credits. And when Varg is credited with Mayhem it's as "Count Grishnackh."

Trivia, random or obscure facts, and general silliness are a great concept for vids, J. I look forward to more! On a subject matter note, the "devil horns" part is an interesting bit of metal history. Dio claims he started the "horns" craze with this gesture that his grandmother used to do to ward off "the evil eye". The same gesture can be used to give it as well. There's a documentary about metal that has that tidbit, though I don't remember what the film is called. There's also a documentary about black metal that has the whole Mayhem fiasco covered. Pretty weird shit Euronymous was into. Anyway, thanks for the videos! Do one in corpse paint? ;)
