Hi Alexey, I decided to start doing these exercises every day as part of my routine to try to stay dance fit while I'm in lockdown - I'm living in New Zealand, and we have been in lockdown for over 3 weeks here now. Managed to find a suitable pole lying around the house! I've always struggled with shoulder and back problems which make it difficult for me to keep a good posture when I'm dancing. Have to say that I've noticed a big improvement since doing these exercises - was very painful at first haha but now I feel so much more flexible and strong. Looking forward to when I can finally practice with my dance partner again as I'm sure he will notice a difference. Thanks for your excellent videos!!

Got the shoulder join injury before, underwent physiotherapy, it helped but the type of exercise was dull. Until then I found your video, very clear instructions to follow along. I did the first exercise only as a beginning everyday. My shoulder movement capability improved. Now I am quite confident to go further to the next exercise. My target is to be able to complete all your exercises. You are very generous to make such a well-presented video. Thank you very much👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Best demonstration and routine I've ever seen!!! I'm not a dancer, would love to be one though. Sadly I have ZERO rhythm and I'm extremely clumsy!!! 🤣 I've spent way too much time & money on physical therapy trying to correct these exact issues that were initially caused by a car accident, then compounding over time with arthritis since 1989. Not only have you addressed how to improve all the problems with bad posture, but you are excellent at explaining how these stretches work. And you demonstrate how, and stress the need, to start in the easiest positions, then build up to harder ones. This will keep many from injuring themselves unintentionally. You have as deep of an understanding of the mechanics of our bone structure and the muscle functions as any medical person. You also have created a routine that flows and is way more fun to do!!! So happy to have stumbled across your channel and will be sharing it with all my friends, doctors and physical therapists!!! Thank you for brightening and enlivening my daily stretching exercises. They have been boring and I've struggled to make myself do them for years, pure drudgery. I plan to check out your dance videos too. Who knows, you might be the first person to teach this old dog a new trick 😋

These exercises are the best! My instructor stresses posture constantly! He is always asking if I feel my spine is aligned. I'm not exactly sure how that should feel on my own. I am hoping these exercises help me feel that and make it a habit. Make me stronger.

Hi Alexey, thank you so much for these posture exercises!!! I did them today with my ballroom dance class, and I was surprised how much they did for the dancers neckline. Great chest opener, I can recommend them for everyone! They had to dance a routine in samba today, mostly in shadow position, and dancing this they looked so much better than they did before, after they have been stretched this way. Plan to do more exercises with them now. All because of your great instructions. Thanks!!!!!

Amazing exercises ! Wow ! I dodn't know these existed. Very well taught: clear, pleasant and dynamic teaching. I've done them three times times so far. I'm not a dancer. I'm an amator latin dance ''dancer''. I'm naturally very flexible but had never really trained my upper body (isolation, coordination). And never that way. Fantastic ! I really enjoy doing the stick exercises.

Hi--I didn't watch this one yet, but will. However, I wanted to let you know that I hurt my back doing one of your exercises, the one aimed at correcting forward head posture. I didn't realize it when I was doing it because it felt good, my shoulders hanging down, and so I probably stayed too long in the posture (against the wall). Later I had a horrible back spasm and upon researching, learned that I likely strained my erector spinae muscle. I nursed it for a week, and it's better now, but you may want to give a little more caution to people when doing this exercise. Thank you!

For the 5 exercise at 6:25, i not even close to do the full movement. The 6 one that is the same in reverse also can't do it. But i will keep trying until i become able to do it. Can i do this routine all days? Should i do the whole routine, then repeat 3 or 4 times or just do every exercise 3 o 4 times and then move on to the next one? Thanks for all the help!
@ballroomwithalexey3951 Жыл бұрын
Yes it’s totally normal that you are experiencing some challenges with the range of movement. Remember to take those exercises slowly and adapted to your range. Take a wider stick and move your hands further apart. You can do them daily but make sure that you are careful.
@eeee97485 жыл бұрын
The exercise you do at 7:50 i can't even do at all! Even with my hands as wide as they can go on the poll... what would you recommend?

Lol I don’t know where my comment went. But yes I remember now. I like Stephen. I just need to learn fast. If I take from another I want to do it in addition to. Thinking two different styles to develop my own. Unless it’s a bad idea. The lead and follow thing is tricky
