Great book for a beginner . kzbin.infoUgkxD-QRFQz730FJEh4f9BYSf-nkIMIC9hL_ this book really starts from the beginning, as in it explains what basic tools are and how to use them. But when it gets to the art of creating joints and how and when to use them this book really starts to teach you something. At least that was my experience.

Angela Marie, this is Flo from Creative Designs here. I am just starting to increase my creativity to doing Pallet signs. I was very interested when I came across your series on Wood Stains etc. I intend to eventually watch all of them. However the color charts and your comments, immediately became a part of my Workbook. I myself really like Early American, Special Walnut and Honey Maple, and then the Weathering signs. Thank you so much for these Tutorials, and I am sure you will here from me again. Flo

I'm not sure if I've really seen that before, but if you wanted to have the drawers darker you could either do an extra coat of stain on them and do 1 coat less on the dresser, or you could use a different, darker stain color entirely just on the drawers!

My personal mix is 4 parts early american (or really any medium brown this color is the least important) 2 parts Briarsmoke ( it's just a little to grey for my liking but when mixed it gave me the rustic look I was going for) and last 1 part of a dark brown ie dark walnut or jacobean

Hi Angela. Would you know what color of wood stain from Ronseal matches up with the Minwax Provicial ? I live in Ireland and I can`t find Minwax anywhere here. =( I haven`t found anywhere online a color guide for Ronseal brand... Also, I saw you`ve applied on cedar. Would they have the same effect (or similar effect) in pine? Thanks
@AngelaMarieMade
@AngelaMarieMade 3 жыл бұрын
It's really hard to give a match without having the stain to test but after looking at the colors my best guess would be Ronseal's country oak or dark oak. I would definitely test it out before beginning and to answer your other question different woods will take the stains differently. thank you!

Very nice video! I noticed you used a prestain on the wood. I think my front door is mahogany. Would you recommend using prestain for that? Thank you for all the stain samples you showed!

Yes, i would recommend using pre stain on any unfinished wood, it really makes a big difference. Thank you!!

Hi Angela thanks for the great tutorial. I'm about to start making some dressers and I'm looking for recommendations for the type of wood I should use, I want my products to look "elegant" without having to break the bank thanks in advanced.

Thank you! Pine is a great, affordable option. Another option is a sanded maple plywood product that I have used on other furniture builds, you can find a formaldehyde free version at home depot here(affiliate): rstyle.me/+8WGzpl1RF29OuMcIpVP8yQ

Hi Angela this is sooo helpful! We have tons of gorgeous wood in our new home- however it’s that 90’s yellowish stain. It seems to have a lacquer coat over it should I sand it? Or use some type of remover before staining? Help! Also I love ur channel, new subscriber! ❤

So happy you're here! Yes, you will need to completely sand off the existing sealant and stain before adding the new stain color.

Hi there! Your video is so informative and so clear! I have a set of chairs that I would like to stain with Minwax "ebony". They are brand new rubberwood chairs. You think staining it would work? Thanks in advance.
@AngelaMarieMade
@AngelaMarieMade 3 жыл бұрын
I think so, I would definitely test it out on a small area first to see how it takes, I have never actually worked with rubberwood. Let me know how it goes!!

I'd it a good idea to use the a lighter stain on a darker wood to brighten it up? Thanks
@AngelaMarieMade
@AngelaMarieMade 4 жыл бұрын
I think that's totally a personal preference. Also take into consideration the project, a dark stained dark wood may look really great as flooring in a light colored room. Or a light stained dark wood could really accentuate the natural wood grain and brighten up the space.

Would you guys say ebony is closer to a gray tone?
@AngelaMarieMade
@AngelaMarieMade 2 жыл бұрын
I think it's is more of a brown black on the piece of wood I tested than a gray tone. As always make sure to test your stain out on your piece because different wood takes stain differently! If you're looking for gray wood stains, I have a video on that as well: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jKqycnurfct1pq8
