Your videos are quite helpful. I used a zero turn for the first time yesterday and I think I spent more time trying not to accidentally crash into the fence or scalp tree roots, or slide into the ditch etc. that I neglected my lines. I ended up mowing every which way. Neighbors probably thought I was drunk. :) I'm sure I'll improve.

Grass clippings on pavement are not only more work to clean up, but also dangerous slick for motorcycles and bicycles

I edge, trim, and then cut. If it’s open field I’ll use my zero turn. For flower bed edging: Do you use a half moon edger first, and then a string trimmer? Or could you use a stick edger?

I have bermuda grass. In the summer i end up cutting at 4.5 or 5" high to keep it green. I don't water. Also i took the grass deflector off my deck so the grass clippings would fly and 95% of the time i use a bagger. Makes even weedy lawns look good!

I use a reel on my bermuda and by the end of the season I might reach .500. I start the season around .200 and cut every other to every third day. 4.5 or 5 would be a different look. 🙂

Mulch around trees and bushes looks more professional than pine needles. Also, the mulch should be at the same level as the surrounding grass so you can mow straight through instead of going around. This means taking about two inches of soil out of the area to be mulched. Do not allow the mulch to pile up because you are left with mulch "volcanoes" that are bad for the tree and have a poor look. However, your mowing tips were very good.

A lot of good advice & tips you are spot on ! I mowed lawns for 10 years and was very picky how it looked. I edged everything trimmed the hedges then mowed . While mowing it cleaned up most of the debris .I mowed with a walker bagger & dixie chopper I gave the clippings to my neighbor for his cows they loved them. They would fight over them , one time a large cow shoved one into my truck bed dented it pissed me off . So I keep them at bay by poking them in the shoulder with a shovel handle they finally learned also hogs love the clippings too. Thanked you so much for your great videos !!!!

Guilty of several of these. Don't forget the sunscreen, for someone who is out in the sunshine all day, especially the face.
