Sometimes ppl put way too much stock in promos. It's not that it's not important (it is) but u also want ur matches at least resonate with fans leaving ur shows as well. This is where technical skill, in-ring psychology, storytelling and spot bumps come in.

Adam, I love you, but please understand that I'm going to have to fight you for forgetting that in the New Generation the women's division also featured Aja Kong and Bull Nakano, two of the best joshi from what is arguably the peak of joshi wrestling.

The worst thing about DiBiase, is that not only did he wear the title, he defended it, at least once. It was a WWF title match, he came out, with the belt, was referred to as the champ and defend it.

While I do agree with Luna and Piper, Alundra Blayze mentioned before that she knew she was leaving WWE and tried to get Luna to pin her in what ended up being Alundra's last WWE match but Luna refused to go into business for herself. Many close to Piper said he never really cared about being champion. I do think he should've won at least one top title though
@alastair852
@alastair852 2 жыл бұрын
Man, the alternate timeline where Luna pinned Alundra in that match would be so much better than the one we live in. Luna gets a title run (even if it's a short one) The only good WWE women's title stays around for longer And Alundra doesn't get blacklisted for decades for throwing the belt in the garbage. Wins all around.

Honestly Regal has to be here somewhere. He was picked to win the belt in 2008 iirc after winning King of the Ring but I think he had a wellness policy violation. Like Triple H won the belt at Backlash 08 and with their history, it wouldnt have been hard to book Heel King Regal vs Face Triple H, give them a nice match at Summerslam And have regal hold the belt for a few months, trade to smackdown in november (Belts changed brands) or just have him drop the belt then pick up the big gold belt down the line.

Owen Hart should've won at Summerslam and should've carried it to Mania and dropped it to Bret with the story of Bret having not beaten Owen till this point. I also would've made it a submission match. As for Diesel and Backlund; I think Diesel and Michaels for the IC title would've been fine for them and brilliant for the IC belt; and I'd put Backlund with Owen. Have him teach Owen the Chicken Wing and claim that Bret is unworthy of the top spot. Finally, have Diesel win the KOTR, beat Bret at Summerslam as a heel and drop it back at The Rumble.

Shelton Benjamin was awesome during his time on Smackdown, and would've looked great with the Big Gold Belt, if WWE pulled their stupidity out of their @$$. Still, I enjoyed his non-WWE time at Japan with Suzuki-Gun.

Curt Hennig was my favorite old school wrestler of all time, but his inclusion isn't really right...unless of course you're defining Mr. Perfect as a completely different individual. Hennig held the AWA title for a year & if you are excluding the ECW world championship, which was the third largest/important North American promotion in the 90s, then the AWA, the 3rd largest/important from the 80s should probably receive the same consideration. Still enjoy the hell out of these videos though. Just consistently funny and insightful every single week. 👍

If your not counting WWE version of the ECW gotta say Matt Hardy. I think there were two great opportunities to put the belt on him. 2005 he was the most over babyface in the company fans wanted him to be the guy. 2009 he had an amazing 2008 having a great US Title feud with MVP & a solid run as ECW World Champion (I do consider it a world title) that run showed he could carry the big one on a brand even it was WWE C show. He should have won MITB at WM 25 instead of the Jeff feud. The heel turn hurt his momentum he had built as a babyface the previous year

Umaga was a BEAST. Most men his size wished they could move as quick as he can and always executed his moves with such intensity (I feel no one would ever top how he executes Samoan Drops). Really should've won the world title but, naturally, he was the villain Lex Luther going up against Super Cena

Where they really screwed up with Umaga was having Vince pin Bobby Lashley for ecw belt instead of Umaga. Eventgough it's not in your criteria that could of built Umaga back up as a serious contender with Vince and Shane in his corner backing him.
