One of my faves from the 00's that literally nobody ever talks about is The Pool or Swimming Pool in some regions, it's a b-movie slasher starring James McAvoy and Isla Fisher (in her first ever role). I watched this movie sooo much as a kid and reccomend it to anybody that's in the mood for an obscure 00's slasher 😁 Also for anybody that liked Turistas I reccomend a 2009 thriller called The Perfect Getaway starring Timothy Olyphant and Milla Jovovich.

My favorite on the list is Session 9. It was a slow burn that got really underneath your skin with the voice recordings. I am such a fan of Book of Shadows. I wonder how I would have felt about it if I was one of the people who saw it at the time it came out expecting a very "Blair Witch 2" but if you put this movie on it's own, it's so nostalgic and fun!
@billneedscpr Жыл бұрын
Ashley Osborn, I *was* the exact person you describe. My disdain for Book of Shadows was LEGENDARY among my horror friends. So you can imagine their shock when, a few years ago, after reading about its troubled production history and the original intent for its interpretation, I re-watched it with that knowledge and completely changed my tune about it. I now think it’s actually a very good movie when the expectation of an in-universe BW sequel is taken out of the equation. And the Y2K nostalgia is definitely wonderful.

Some great movies you forgot: - "Feast" (2006): This movie was made from the "Project Green Light" reality TV series contest with a budget of $1M. It's a horror comedy on the level of "Evil Dead 2". Fragile/Frágiles from 2005 with Calista Flockhart is one of my favorite hidden gems from the 2000s. It's hard to say anything about it without giving it away, but it's about a night nurse at a children's hospital that's closing down, and the kids are being moved to a new place. But as the children are being moved, something or someone is inflicting bad bone breaks on them to keep the children there. It's really creepy and the atmosphere is spot on. Ghost Ship and Book of Shadows Blair witch 2 are my favorites on this list. I’ll check out the others though they do seem interesting. I recommend Stay Alive as a underrated 2000s horror movie. I really liked it but it does look dated to the time for obvious reasons.

I am so glad you included Book of Shadows. It was something i always left on when i came across it. It was just my favorite background nouse. Now its so nostalgic. Its definitely cheesy and not for everyone. But if the early 2000s was a good time in your life, throw this baby on and be transported. ❤
