The funny thing about you mentioning comm towers letting you pass certain thresholds is that its's true and... it's also why I don't like AWBW much. I liked AW2 because of the gameplay, the COs, and I also happened to like the vanilla damage theshoulds.

there's still some maps where 0t play is a thing; the grandmaster league match i played was on that kind of map. the issue with 0t is that you end up with a lot of damaged units and it ends up making global damage COs even stronger than they would be otherwise, which is why the towers have become pretty standard in awbw.
