I wish there was a similar study with dutasteride done dose makes a huge difference and now I'm trying to go up to 1mg dutasteride I wonder how high to go is 2.5mg needed or 4 mg or 10mg ? Unlikely 😅 especially curious on overall DHT and especially type 1

I took oral fin for 60 days 0.5mg every day, my hair went thicker but had side effects of heart palpitations and pain in the testicles so I’ve stopped and they subsided after a few weeks. I’ve gone back on topical which is side effect free, it’s just a pain having to put gel in your hair every day along with minoxidil. if I was even going to go back on oral I’d be having 0.5mg every other day and maybe use topical the days I’m not taking oral, as the side effects were pretty bad and that was with me taking half of the dose prescribed to me.

I have used 0,25 mg for 10 months. My DHT level was DHT: 172 pg/ml Then I continued with 0.5 mg daily and after 9-10months it was 142 pg / ml. Nominal value for my age = 300 bis 850 pg / ml Doubling of Finasterid has jsut a minor effect of 30 pg /ml. What would you recommend? Keep 0,25 mg oder increase to 1 mg? Not sure if 142 pg/ml can stop hair loss.

I would like to try taking maybe 0.5mg every other day. But I’m already on escitalopram for anxiety/depression and my testosterone is low normal. But eostrodil on high normal. Also My DHEA is high, so I think these would seriously fuck up all my hormones and adrenals

finasteride is one piece of a very big puzzle. Nutrition is plays a hell of a role in hair growth, inflammation too. I have experienced this. Finasteride does solve the dht problem but the because you are susceptible to AGA, you pretty much have to live perfectly if you want to see results, otherwise these other factors WILL HOLD YOU BACK (also finasteride takes time for results to show, i got results 8 months into my treatment, then I quit smoking and started drinking a lot more water and ate healthily, added min and microneedling to the stack and then saw incredible results in months 9&10). Try address everything and be patient.
