Thx Dr K, I'm recovering from a long layoff due to some issues. I've been an endurance athlete most of my adult life along with moderate weights and stretching, Had a six pack at 71 with no unusual effort, just my weekly routine of 3 days a week resistance and lots of cardio activities through the week, I used to do about 7 hrs a week plus daily carpentry and building. Now at 74 after the big layoff, I'm rebuilding slowly. My balance is off and I'm happy to see this exercise group and did some with you this morning. I'll start tomorrow, Memorial Day and do the group 3 x/ week. So Have a good holiday and I'll be chking in more often. I have friends in the Manchester area and New London area, who i visit often and have spent a number of summers rebuliding a couple of houses in New London. Lovely area. I'm in the Berkshires of MA, which is also a lovely area. Escaped the Boston area 20 years ago, so now in Heaven here. Stay well you and your family.

Kristie, If you slip on your good ankle, then the problem might not be your bad ankle (past injury and surgeries). A masseuse told me that calf tightness can cause loss of balance, and I recall pain in my heels from tightness of my calf. Massage helped, and recently I began regular group exercise, with stretching self-massage and whirlpool. I am finding improvement.

Kristie - these are very good - I like focussing on muscle groups one side at a time.Also it may be helpful to have a chair or table nearby - in case you ain't balancing !🙂🙃

My mom is 83 and is in great shape, yet she is losing her balance and falling hurting herself. I hope she can catch this and help herself live safely . This is hard. I found this video to help myself so i can practice stability.

Dr I used to run up stairs and use a stepmill before I got hit by a car on my bicycle I noticed I feel like I’m going to trip up the stairs what can I do to regain my balance and strength
