I use to tell my mom that I want to travel but I need to be rich first. She looked me in the eyes in said, why wait until you are old and possibly not as healthy? Go enjoy your life now, you don't need a lot of money to travel anyway. This has stuck with me since and now I don't hold back when I want to go somewhere. I'm happy that I grew up with parents that didn't hold me back.

OMG! You have NO IDEA how HAPPY I am to have found your channel. New subcriber here. Husband and I are 50ish. We have enjoyed our lives so far....built a house in the counry & lived there 10 years while raising our kids, moved to Southwest Florida where we have been living for last 7 years with our 2 teens but now we are ready for a new adventure. We did a lot of day trips with the kids and I traveled before we got married a bit. We LOVE travel & now want to do it FULL TIME. We are selling off our house this year, wrapping up business in Florida then off we go. I have a lot of homework and research to do so we can get the most travel/fun for our dollar. Looking forward to catching up on your other videos :) Melody

I have been obsessively watching KZbin videos of people traveling the world and living my dreams as a motivator and I have to tell you that you are the most motivating and encouraging person I've found on here. I really appreciate how helpful you are and how I can tell you genuinely want to help other travelers get out there. Stand by while I watch all of your videos while keeping SkyScanner and job apps open on other tabs so I can get my ass to New Zealand, Australia, and Vietnam this summer.

Hey Kayla, thank you so much for your kind message! I was up until 3am editing my most recent video last night and I was SO TIRED but your message popped up while I was working and gave me the extra kick to push through to get the packing video up before I went to bed. So happy to hear my videos are helpful to you - means the world to me :) Good luck planning your trip, you have some awesome destinations picked out. Thanks again for the sweet message and happy travels!

Excellent series. Just watched your 2nd episode too. I agree with everything you stated on your other video except the part about not having a separate hiding place for cash or credit cards (it is a personal decision I know)😄 But, overall, what you are presenting to future travelers is about the best information they're going to find. And that's coming from a seasoned traveler. Thank you for your videos. Well done.
@lindsaymccormick96078 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! Quite the compliment coming from another adventurer! I totally get the hiding things all over the place mentality - lots of travelers disagree with me on that one lol - but whatever works, right? Everyone's got their own methods ;) Thanks so much for the kind message and for watching - happy travels!

I do the same. That old saying...."you take care of the pennies, the dollars will take care of themselves" Any leftover over cash I have goes in an old piggy bank or savings envelope or stays in the bank. I only carry the exact money I need for each day, and sometimes it's zero (except for emergency coins I keep in my vehicle).

Thanks so much! Also, this is kind of confusing to explain but see if you can ask them and they'll know what you're talking about. When I started traveling, a rep recommended I move all my money from my Charles Schwab checking account to a Brokerage account (I think?) and the reason he said that is because it's free to overdraw from Checking to Brokerage but if anyone ever tries to break into my checking account it looks like I have $0.00 (because it's always overdrawing and pulling from brokerage but not charging me like some banks do.) So basically if someone somehow gets into my account and looks to see if they can take money, it looks like I have literally nothing in there. I don't know if it actually helps but I've traveled all around and have used countless ATMs in some seriously sketchy places and (knock on wood) nothing bad has ever happened where as some of my friends have had people swipe their cards and drain their accounts. Hope this makes sense and let me know if you want any more details! Charles Schwab is the bomb! Happy Travels!

Thanks! I told this trip almost 3 years ago but I've traveled a lot since as well. I used my Schwab debt card primarily and loved it. Also, this is kind of confusing to explain but see if you can ask them and they'll know what you're talking about. When I started traveling, a rep recommended I move all my money from my Charles Schwab checking account to a Brokerage account (I think?) and the reason he said that is because it's free to overdraw from Checking to Brokerage but if anyone ever tries to break into my checking account it looks like I have $0.00 (because it's always overdrawing and pulling from brokerage but not charging me like some banks do.) Hope this makes sense and let me know if you want any more details! I also had a Bank of America credit and debt card as a back up.

You haved some charms while talking and you make travelling fun while in fact, travelling has a lot of downside and beside beeing bored at home or wanting to escape bad weather, or wanting sex adventures,motivation for travel is not so obvious even more if one doesn' t give a shit about temples and churches and other cultures witch mostly resume in lots of superstitions, rituals and less freedom.
@lindsaymccormick96078 жыл бұрын
Hm, I'm not totally sure I understand what you're saying Mathieu but of course, everything has a good side and a bad side, travel included. I like to focus on the good, there is plenty of that to go around :)
