No Adventure was the first Easter Egg. Moon Lander came out in 1973, same year as pong. It wasn't even an arcade machine until 1979. The programer of Adventure was pissed he wasn't going to get credit for writing the game so he hid himself in the game. That was the first time anyone called it an Easter Egg and that IS the first Easter Egg. Sorry nerds. I refuse to accept that alternative theory.

That Doom entry wasn't obscure at all. It's literally a listed collectable in the game. It doesn't include every level. It's a mix of Doom and Doom II. There is so much wrong information in that entry

having savefiles for specific games, Psycho Mantis would talk about them if they were present in your memory card

@AyLeo yeah, that was the ordinary function of the game. Not really buried or hidden at all. We would try each other's memory cards to see what all we could get him to say.

An Easter egg doesn't stop being an Easter egg just because it's easy to find and ends up becoming common knowledge, you know.
