Roth, as has been mentioned. Largest in the world. Quarter of a million volunteers and spectators. How was this missed? Absolutely amazing.

I would love to hear a bucket list of sprint and Olympic distance triathlons. Some of us are specialised in the short distance races.

Laguna Phuket Triathlon. Challenging course and climate, amazing organisation, enthusiastic crowds, and top pros, all set within the unique Thai culture. Memories for life.

Did you rent a bike there

@@FunInTheSun808 I didn't but it's easy to do. Siam Bike Tours rent out high quality carbon Canyon bikes.

I didn’t realise 500k GTN subscribers are all either serious amateur or professional triathletes looking for exciting races. I assumed most were (like me) just aspiring to do maybe a couple of Tri’s in their lives, so I expected to see a different ‘bucket list’! But still a thumbs up from me for a rather interesting and unexpected video.

Me too, some people compete at shorter distances fast, others like me are just doing the distance as it's a full on challenge !

I know I'm weird, but fresh on my bucket list (and hopefully off it over the next few years) is the London Triathlon. Racing in central London for 2 hours+ is just something that appeals to me more than taking turns freezing and being cooked over 18 hours ;)

@MaartenCaminada3 жыл бұрын
Norseman is not for everyone, I get that, but omitting Roth is strange indeed. I raced both Roth and Frankfurt and both races are similar in experience, but I rate Roth higher than Frankfurt.
@rogerc233 жыл бұрын
@@MaartenCaminada just wondering what are you ranking? Overall experience or other factors? Or you just did better at one lol.
@MaartenCaminada3 жыл бұрын
@@rogerc23 Frankfurt is a great race on an excellent course, but Roth is the capital of long course triathlon and you feel that when you're there. Solar Hill really pushes the scale, you can read about it or see the video's, but experiencing it is still really special.
@rych78523 жыл бұрын
Probably because Roth is MASSIVELY overated! A triumph or marketing and somehow journos ONLY write positive stories. Don't believe me? Find more than 5 negative pieces online about the race! Unless of course you genuinely believe its the best race on the planet and cannot be improved in any way! 🤣 Don't worry though, the army of online Roth fans will ensure any criticism is deleted from any forum or comment boxes. Cant have any criticism allowed 🙄 Roth is the best race in the world, ever and there's eleventymilion spectators on the course. Oh, and "Solarberg" is the best 500m long @ 5% hill in the world. Literally perfect and makes all other climbs insignificant... (I raced Roth a few years ago btw. NEVER again!)
@rych78523 жыл бұрын
@@MaartenCaminada No offence but putting a banner up as you enter the site saying "Welcome home triathletes" doesn't make it true! The home of IM distance is, and always will be, Kona. (And the closest I'll ever get to Kona is a package holiday 😁 ) It sums up Roth imo though. A half decent (not quite 140.6 long to ensure fast times) race elevated by hype to a level it simply doesn't deserve Would love to do Norseman, but I'm just not fast enough to get that Black T Shirt

While it is interesting to see some great races, with the current pandemic situation, and the uncertain ability to travel abroad and not have to quarantine for 14 days, suggesting a bucket list in this environment does not seem like a good idea.
