8:04 In other words, most interviewers would rather have a mediocre employee who is going to stick around (mostly because they have no better opportunities) than try to hold onto someone who is actually good. I've seen this too often in real life, unfortunately. Good workers leave because the management doesn't respect them while people who don't even have the right skills/level of competence/professionalism for the job manage to hang on just because management isn't willing to look for a replacement. P.S. Those same "loyal" employees the HR people prefer are the first to leave if a better opportunity DOES arise for them elsewhere. Sometimes, it's better to try and hold onto the better workers than just go for the person least likely to quit. In the end, the best workers are the ones who genuinely enjoy their work and try to do their best at it, not the ones simply looking to "fit in" to the culture.

I agree, last year they hired a former employee, full time, instead of giving me the job. The former employee had a run of 8 years previously so they assumed he would hang around for another 8 years. So They Hired him and let him go. The former employ left after 6 months for a better job

I have a question. Hoping you can help. I had an internal job interview today. HR attached a resume from a previous internal post for a different department. Not the one I created specifically for this post. And without a cover letter I supplied. I am so upset that HR did this. I worked hard to Tailor my resume for this post as this would be a great move for me for growth. How would you suggest I being this up to HR without burning a bridge. I am angry they put me in this position as it looked like I did not update my resume.

Job interviews have more to do with likeability than your qualifications.
