10 Questions to ask in the early stages of dating - [ ] What does he want out of this relationship serious or casual? - [ ] What happened in his last relationship and why did they break up? - [ ] Does he want children or looking to have more and how many? - [ ] What is his financial situation? - [ ] And what are the expectations on finances as a couple? talk about your contribution too. - [ ] What is his relationship with his family, parents and siblings? - [ ] Are his family going to be an issue? You need to be prepared and know what you’re walking into. That includes baby mamas. - [ ] Where does he see himself in the next 5/10 years? What are his ambitions and dreams? - [ ] Is he open to relocating to another country if need be? - [ ] Who are his friends? and request to meet them. - [ ] What are the things he will not compromise on, everyone has deal breakers! Believe him when he says it and do not try to convince him otherwise after the fact when you guys are married. - [ ] How important is sex to him and will he be prepared to wait while you take your time to access the relationship. Hold on to the cookies 🍪 for now! 😃

Just today I let two men down gently on the online dating site, because they were not answering the question on what happened in their last relationship and what their good and lesser charactertraits were. So ... bye bye. I saved this episode and will revisit it a lot. Love from Belgium.

@@soulovelee_2433 I'm speaking of experience 😂😂. An Ex did that to me, while we were in a relationship he approached my friend online (dating app), he didn't know she was my friend, but i had previously shared his pic. She told me he approached her online, I told her to ask him why his last relationship ended.....he skipped that question and would change the subject.

No one ever sat me down to tell me how important it is to ask these questions & it’s resulted in me getting into relationships blindly and for the wrong reasons, even at this age.🤦🏾‍♀️ I got out of one some weeks back & I can already see lots of reasons why the relationship failed & areas where I went wrong. I have to be able to answer these questions myself too. It’s not just for him. I have a lot of work to do on myself. I also have to prepare to become a high value & virtuous women just like I’d like my future husband to be. Thank you so much, mummy Fumi. This video has helped me much more than you can imagine.❤️

Fumi I love you, but this is far away from what a relationship wants to be nice and lovely… I’ m really huge fan of you! I m married with my husband from 2009 and I did all of these questions! He gave me answers and I thought that he was the perfect one! He wanted two kids (he build a house with three bedrooms) and when the economic crises came, he barely wanted one. He was successful businessman with passion, and his job destroyed. He never gave up and he’s doing another job but it was a mess for a while. He had beautiful relationship with his family and his parents were so sweet until they moved near us when I gave birth my child. But I love him and all these stuff gave me the begging of finding my strength (I was very quiet person). So all of these questions are a little easy and easy to change. When you met someone the only question that should ask is by yourself. When the situation changes, will you care enough for him/her to carry on?

Fumi, could we possibly have a set of questions for us older folks who are dating and looking for that life partner? I just turned 60 and looking towards planning my retirement so many of these questions aren’t relevant for me. Dating is so difficult for all ages. I love watching you with all of your wisdom and knowledge. Thank you!

I'm a sixties lady also. I'm so afraid of being hurt. When I meet men my age, they're so immature to the point I don't even want to date anymore. I don't want to be alone the rest of my life, but at the same time I'm tired of being disappointed with the losers I'm meeting. Any advice Ms. Fumi???

Great list, Fumi. I guess the question I have is, how to know if you are in a relationship? That's for my single and looking sisters. These questions shouldn't be asked on the first date. A lot of these questions were revealed without me asking early on before we were in a commited relationship. I saw that the man I met had a good job, a home, and two automobiles. He introduced me to his (one) son, family, and friends, so I didn't have to ask. No baby mama drama here. My situation is different because I met my husband 37 years ago. I don't recall any guidelines for dating at the time. Thank you for providing some. Some couples meet in college where you can see where his career is going just like your mother did. Good for Mother. You made good points on children, religion, politics, finance, potential, and sex. Everything should be on the table so both people know what the other is bringing to the table. You have to be on the same page to have a solid foundation going forward together. We have to remember that everything that glitters isn't gold, even though the man passes the question stage of the relationship. What people say and what they do are two different things. Thank you for another informative video. ❣️

I absolutely love, Love, LOVE your confidence! 💃 And, you are VERY insightful about the issues of life in terms of relationships. I am 55 and never married. I've made ALL of the mistakes in relationships, and I've ignored ALL of the red flags (even the FLAMING flags that were burning bright red, yellow and orange)! 😥 🔥🚩 🔥 I know that I am wiser, stronger and better because of my past experiences, but sometimes I briefly reflect on the fact that, as a result of my own choices, I had to learn so many life lessons the hard way! The good news is that I acknowledged then separated myself from the toxicity I allowed in my life, and now my heart is open to begin a life with the man for which God has prepared me! 🤴👸 Thank you for sharing your wisdom. I'll be watching! 🤗

Spectacular as always! ❤️ 💋Excellent questions. When I was single I went on a couple of dates with a gentleman from the Middle East. On the 2nd date we somehow got on the topic of children. Although it wasn’t my situation, I was curious so I asked him if he would consider marriage to a woman with children. He very quickly, and firmly answered that if he wanted to marry her she would have to give up the children because he could never accept another man’s children. Needless to say, it was our last date.

I love this episode. You are so young but you make me think of my mother. When I was a young teenager my mother spoke directly, truthfully and wisely as do you. My mother died in 2015, I miss her sorely. I am 68 years old and I made a good choice when I married because of my wise mother's words and my ability to listen. I am glad the young women have you to watch and listen to.

Auntie Funmi you are indeed a role model every young girls need in a mother❤.. I love my mom with all my heart, she's very caring in her own way but she didn't give me courage or advice when it comes to relationships. I am 33 years old and dated a couple of mens but because of fear i feel insecure to be in a relationship. I'm always concerned if he is a good guy or is he just acting to trap me. I built myself a high wall that prevents men from accessing my heart and i don't know how to let go. Now a couple of years has passed and i was not approached or asked out by men. I always ask my myself if God is driving them away from me and wants me to wait for the right guy or was i meant to be single. Please make a video in regards to this issue🙏 P.s. my parents had a good relationship until my dad passed away but i have witnessed many friends who were in an abusive relationship which contributed to my insecurity

I asked a guy all those questions, and in the end, it was nothing but lies. I asked him how many women he had been with a lie, what happened in his last relationship lie, what his future goal lie, and how can he know if you are with a liar; but also, I was young and very naive. But I have learned. So thank you for this advice.

I wish you would have had this 10 yrs ago before I married the clown I did. Now at almost 40 (next year) and newly divorced with 2 boys from that marriage, I will implement these questions going forward. I blame my issues on having a domineering mother who gets off on dating broken men (past alcoholics, men with past and current drug abuse issues) she was engaged to a muslim Nigerian and always reminisce about their relationship and not accepting the multiple women theory. Her advice went against all femininity and being told "you gotta train him" all the time. I ended up stressed and Baker Acted twice. Because I'm like you Fumi: elegant, proper etiquette, open to learning other cultures and carrying myself like a lady. I was teased relentless by my family and called bougie. My mom did not teach me any of that and I had to learn as I grew up, a lot of trial and error. I lost a lot of good men because I come across as the "round the way girl" sitting on dirty stair stoops, cursing, loud. I was raised to relate, no embrace.

Aunty Fumi, this was a great list! Simple summary both parties need to know what the expectations are in the areas of -Money (how much do each of us earn and I’m adding this, have the potential to earn) -Children (Does any person want and if so how many.) (Additionally if anyone has children currently what’s the relationship with the other parent like?) -Place of residence ( is either party open to moving locally, regionally, nationally or Internationally.) -Current Family (parents and siblings) relationship -Who are your friends( birds of a feather flock together!) 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾💯💯💯❤️❤️❤️ Also I love the headband!

Fantastic video full of great advice. Thank you Fumi! Loving this wave of dating advice videos and all of them have great messages on how to manage yourself, stay emotionally safe as well as give yourself the best chance to find a suitable partner and sort the chaff from the wheat at the very least! My friends and I are eating up this content and implementing tips and reviewing results. My most recent date was pretty fun because I just felt more confident about asking questions about important things early. You are quite right, seeing how a guy responds is insightful and it is letting me see a bit more clearly who is and is not open to dating seriously. Loving the content and the way you express the key issues and ways to work through is absolutely my cup of tea. Your examples certainly have us girls giggling in awe and recognition. Many thanks as always and have a beautiful week to you and your family 💜 🔥 💫

Its true about asking about the last relationship. I once asked someone about their past relationship, and how they spoke about the ex, the anger I saw, made ma realised they were not over the ex. I chose to walk away because I was not ready to handle that emotion, I knew it will find its way to our relationship if we date.

Fumi, in this relationship series, your advice is great! In interviewing these fellas, what should be our approach? They must not feel as if they are applying for a position, tho they are?

Hi Fumi, my last relationship was 12 years ago. The psychiatrist diagnosed the father of my son as a "a dominant narcisist"-. I have that in writing. If I am asking the question, how did your last relationship end, I have to be prepared to comment on my own story. Does it make me look bad if I state the facts ? Does it look like I am badmouthing my ex partner ?

@babyjells 2 жыл бұрын
My ex was a narcissist as well and I’m thankful that I escaped that toxic mess. I don’t think it’s badmouthing if you’re stating facts, buuuut I think what’s most important to talk about is what that experience thought you and how you’ve grown from it. When I ask men questions about their exes, I’m not interested in what the ex did wrong; I’m interested in what they feel was their own culpability, what they would’ve done differently, what they learned from that situation and what they would do differently going forward. That to me is indicative of growth and self awareness. If I ask these questions and all they can talk about is how terrible their ex was, then that’s a red flag 🚩 to me. So yes mention it, but focus on you- your own culpability, what you learned, how you’ve grown etc

Telling the truth isn't bad-mouthing. Keep in mind your delivery of the facts. Timing, tone, and temperament goes a long way. Good luck! 🌹

@@babyjells Yes absolutely, its not about the ex but more on him, bad mouthing and talking **** about somebody else is never alright, but sharing your experience with them in a light aspect is key. Important for both parties man and woman alike. If the last relationship was really bad and chaotic, don't just blame the other person, maybe you could talk about in light of the situation, add things like blessing or luck, the relationship was not bless, and what we learnt from it and how we handle it, how we go on with our life and of course many more. Make sure to always end the note on a positive side because we are redeeming ourself for the new relationship. 😁 Good luck to all, cheers 🥂

@@babyjells Good advice. I am sure there are things you learned from dating that person. Even if it’s my boundaries were too loose and this louse took advantage of me or you can spot red flags faster or you know what you will and will not tolerate.

This was a good video👏🏾🥰❤️ one of first questions when I do meet someone is how many children do you have and do you want more. I knew when I was pregnant with my youngest, who is almost 12 that I wasn’t having any more. So I prefer a man who already has 2-3 children and preferably at least one of each, boy and girl. Because baaaabbbyyyy this shop is closed and its not negotiable 🙅🏾‍♀️🙅🏾‍♀️🙅🏾‍♀️ I’ll be 43 the end of the year but look significantly younger so I do sometimes, ALOT of times attract younger men. But one of my major #1 reasons to not even consider him as a serious potential partner is him not having children. By my mind being SET about the issue, no amount of being in love with anybody is going to make me change my mind!!!!! And to not waste both our time down the line if he changes his mind and want a child, that’s something I can not do. My sons are 22 and 11, me having another one would be starting all over again with even more years between the children, number one my body can’t handle another pregnancy and furthermore I don’t want to raise another child, not from birth at least. IM TIIIIRRREEEDDD CHILE 😂 Quick story: I was talking to this guy a couple of years ago and of course I asked how many children does he have, he tells me two, boy and girl and one was 18-19 and the other about 16. We’re talking for a couple of weeks and really feeling each other but I really wasn’t in the space of wanting a relationship but he did. So it was a frequent topic in our many daily conversations. With it being something he seemed to be adamant about, I told him that to even get on that road all cards need to be on the table, meaning we need to have some serious conversations about the important issues not just that we’re “feeling” each other. Well I guess he starts to feel guilty about not being honest about the children topic and let’s me know he doesn’t have 2 kids, he has…… 10 TEN 😳😒😩 like how did you think you were going to hide that????? At that very moment all the “like” I had for him literally left my body at that very moment!
