I'm guessing that the tech just has to get better. Maybe offering crops that are harder to get might also help. If you can get grants, maybe developing a better tasting product might be helpful.

Many farms have pretty thin profit margins already…..then add in a bunch more supply costs for vertical or aquaponic system farming. Even if you produce “more”….that isn’t enough in general, - you need to produce enough more to pay for the setup costs, and that is tough to do.

Expensive pelleted seeds.. low roi. You should choose a seed that is not expensive with quality same as pelleted seeds. But lower in price
