I have mine for a while, and it still sounds fresh. I bought some banks online from well known sound designers as a base, ended up using them as is because they are very well made. Just add in your preferred modulation tool (wheel, pedal, ...... ) and your done, for playing/recording in real time or live it is a bliss.

Yeah who would have thought, huh? Ol’ throw-it-in-the-toilet-after-one-use Behringer of all companies. Guess the one thing Uli has been honest about was wanting to release a synth one day.
@maydaygoingdown56024 жыл бұрын
I have had this synthesizer in my studio for around 2 weeks now...it's a strange one...the presets are well...pretty bad for what it's capable of, as long as you want to deepdive into it's modulation settings that is. I find it has a very quirky character, which I actually like...although I must say, it's very very easy to get lost in discovering it's capabilities. This is the one synth in the studio that I find myself spending a lot of experimenting time with, much more time than any of the others, and I thought the Roland Vsynth was a deepdive to get the best out it but I find myself spending much more time experimenting with Deepmind 12...I don't get anything done lol... I don't think this synth is for everyone, I think it's a great experimental sound design synth for Anolog poly type sound, ..I wouldn't bother with the presets, most just sound odd and old and mostly wouldn't fit into a modern mix, it's severely over saturated with effects especially reverbs on the presets too. But to start from scratch and create your own sound sets...it's an interesting tool to have, Its a love hate relationship I have with it...hate it cause I get nothing done due simply getting lost in its modulation capabilities and experimentation, but love it because of those same things at the same time:)...

Looking for a synth that interests me and something a bit different to the rest of the synths here in the studio. The Roland JDXA might be of interest as I don't have a hybrid...well...Apart from a Korg Radias but that sounds all digital to me.

This is a really good sounding synthesiser. Why Behringer don't update this with a second oscillator and maybe make it 32 voices or something like that is a mystery to me. They're busy rolling out all these clones but they have a winner on their hands right here with the Deepmind. And the best part is it's kind of their design to a certain extent. It has a bit of originality to it.

I've had my DM6 for just over 2 months now. The first week of owning it I nearly ended up sending it back mainly because of 80% of the 000's of less than impressive presets. I'm now sooo glad I held on to it and got to know it. It's almost like all the presets have everything possible going on and it just gets mushy and unusable. If you take a little time to scale them back a bit they're become some seriously usable stuff. It's a slightly different approach than I'm used to but it's growing on me big time. I like it. A lot.

I've watched demos of the Roland system 1 plug out but have been put off that one by poor reviews.....and have watched demos of Behringer's deep mind 12 and ms1 (I think it's called), and I'm still none the wiser. I guess that the main thing I want it for is making ambient music as well as making guitar based music. If anyone has any synth suggestions for £500-£600 max then feel free to add them so I can check them out. Cheers 👍

This is really not where you want to start with your first synth it ‘will’ imo overwhelm you with its capabilities and probably leave you stressed you can’t get it sounding like the reviews... it is an exceptionally capable synth at an incredible price for what you get.. but I’d start with something like a micro freak which has a lot of depth and potential but also instant gratification .... or maybe a behringer model d ... or Korg minilogue xd, but like everything others will have their opinion.. good luck ..🤔

I have been considering this synth again, don't know why lol, so I thought after some time with fresh ears I may change my perspective. Afraid not, it still sounds so bland to me. And the inherent limitations in the oscillator section just can't be ignored. That being said, I think Behringer has learned a lot from the subsequent clones, they can clearly engineer (or re-engineer) a synth to sound properly beefy. I'd love to see them take another crack at a poly of their own. There is so much about this I like, except the sound, which is the most important part.
