The Flash scene in school after Peter loses Uncle Ben in TASM 1. Adds a layer of depth to a character and shows that he's not just a 2 dimensional bully.

I absolutely love that scene. That guy is the definitive Flash, for me. It's a shame he didn't get more scenes. It also makes me that much more salty thinkin about MCU Flash, and how far the character has fallen.

Theres a rly shitty indie horror movie called "Mud" in which a bunch of very cliche shit happens to a bunch of very cliche characters, its a nothing burger, with a budget of 2 and a half empty beer bottles, and no redeeming qualities whatsoever (Except for the few times tiddys get flashed) and yet... there is one moment in the movie, where a character whos name i dont ever remember holds up a bloodies shovel over his head after killing a bunch of bad guys with it and yells "SHOVEL !" and honestly man i just fucking lost it and i will never be able to forget about that scene, every time i get a shovel weapon in a game or see a character use a shovel as a weapon or hell, pick up a shovel irl, i remember this scene.

Man, good selections! In fact, the warehouse fight scene is what made me be sure to watch Batman v Superman, and like all Snyder verse films, I walked away appreciative of what he was trying to convey. Snyder is a director easy to dismiss summarily, but ironically, to honestly attempt to summarize his work will always end up being too reductive. Most of the time his only tool is a proverbial cudgel, he thinks composition is accomplished with underexposure, drama is another word for something getting FUBAR'ed, and tension is another word for "slow motion", but everything he's ever made that I've seen always has something in it, a scene that which one can apply the theme of the entire work to, that you can see him break from his conventions and just become an artist. That's what's so puzzling about the "Martha scene", it's the one he should have gotten right. YOU, sir, got it right, gave me chills imagining it with your subtle re-edit imagery along your verbal description of it, and holy shit, had that been IN the fuckin movie, everyone would have sang it's praises from fanboy to the critic in the world that, when viewing franchise fills, is the most cynical... well, I don't want to besmerch the moniker of "cynical", an apt adjective for YOU, after all, CW. The difference, here, as a point of saliency, is that you, dear sir, are NOT flapping a dick holster when you talk, so maybe cynical isn't what I mean. Let's say "the most aggrieved dick-holster employed by some vanguard publication the world over".... Damn, what was I talking about??? All I know is I gotta text Geneva, all this mention of dick-holsters, renowned or otherwise, has me thinking about how the good one's deserve a goddamned metal... And never receive them... There's a women's rights issue I can get behind... As long as she has a nice ass, anyway... Cya!

Nice ass (and legs), paramount indeed; everything else is secondary. That's the thing about the Martha thing, I just noticed, while rewatching the scene, that he doubled up on the mistake, cause Bruce mentions Clark's parents before getting to the final blow, which I really think is a mistake, because it's crucial that Batman completely forget that this is a real person, raised on Earth, by real parents, that he's tryna kill. That way, the 'Martha' bit hits like an even bigger truck. So yeah, I really don't know what Snyder was thinking with this scene, but it should've been refined a bit.

@@CynicalWarlock I bet it could be done without a reshoot, just ADR, and some edits alluding to the thought process like you cut in this video, unless those cuts were already there and your setup and narration contextualized them enough for them to hit effectively for me. Maybe Snyder had to give in to a committee choice, or... I dunno... It IS bafflingly ineffectual and unintentionally humorous, although I think you're right about "stinking of the first draft of the script" being most likely, it could also be the THIRTY-FIRST draft, where everyone involved just lost their sense of it. Art is hard, narrative evocation is hard, and it could just be that everyone involved thought it would hit right. I think you need to write a batman story, I could illustrate it, I'm a pretty damn good artist. A graphic novel, where the descriptive writing becomes the illustrations instead, but it's otherwise normal literary writing. All of my songs title cards are made by me, all those are drawings I drew, on a cellphone, but they should give a decent example of my penchant for visual badassery, as long as we don't sell it or use any of the existing, copywritten narratives then we're golden, Ponyboy! Or write an Original story, but you should be a qoddamn fiction writer for sure, and if you want the story illustrated, hmu!

I see a video that I'm late too. Welp... it's time to break cinematography a new one. Update: Great choices, fascinating viewpoints, well placed critical thoughts for certain scenes. 👍 Now yes normally I pop up for a mk vid cause that rent is cheap😅 however now and then it's nice to expand and explore the current culture. For me if their was a moment of cinima that Truly captured my imagination back then, it would have to be the scene in 300 where the first fight at the hot gates happened, where a messanger barked for their weapons to spartans. Only for a spartan to drop his weapon in his general direction through his sternum. Then for Leonidas to scream " Come and take them!!! " The tone shift was brilliant to me since I read the frank Miller comic so imagine my mind under the hype of that very tone shift. However cynical, if theirs a recommendation from a Danny leo in your end credits to truly explore, it's gonna warp your perception of antagonist, and well.... make prime shao Kahn look like a angry kitten. This story started from a book back in 1966 and was later adapted into a video game with the same title.... I was so naive as to what I was to embark it felt like dark souls on Crack back then. It's called " I have no mouth and I must scream. " Hollywood will never make this 🎬 for... reasons. But if a sci fi horror gets ya giddy this will give as it also gets ya. Also I played the game first before delving in the pages and.... yeah fair warning The main antagonist is.... Wait no spoilers read or play.

TASM2 might actually be my favorite spiderman movie, allow me to explain before pulling out your pitchforks, it feels like a spider-man movie, I love everything in that movie production wise, I really think they nail it, editing/music/effects/choreography/yada yada yada, the costume and the vibes from that movie are likely my favorite, the relationship Peter has with others I think Andrew brings it out so well in a natural yet with that "Parker weirdness" added on top. The thing that makes this movie suck for me is the villains, they all suck, sinister six was all an oscorp plan apparently (like what?). But everything outside of that encapsulates a Spider-Man movie how it's supposed to be. I don't know if I made a lick of sense, I get why people hate it, but I also think Andrew brought out the best version of the webhead on a screen (likely a bias since I grew up reading the ultimate comics) that plus the amazing production (at least in my opinion) makes that movie special in spite of the terrible writting. Okay, pull the pitchforks out now.

Honestly those scenes from the tasm movies show that man andrew garfield deserves a second chance to be spiderman. I do like the developement he gets in tasm 1 where peter grows into a more mature person i like that hes a dick in the beginning but learning responsibility and empathy to become Spiderman . Shame tasm 2 sucks wnd made him a friggin goof endangering lives to mess with a villain. I hope after the unanimous praise he got in no way home he can come back to the role again

Yeah that's the best part for me, the more of a dick he is, the more satisfying his transformation into the hero is. And Tobey's Peter has that too, but it's minimized, in favor of making that version as sympathetic as possible. I always thought TASM 2's goofiness isn't that bad, in a vacuum, but the problem is it's done in the midst of the 'gritty realistic' take on Spider-Man; also the one where Gwen dies, Norman dies, his son is dying, and miserable, it just registers as weird.
