Shamrock is right. If he couldn't have his boots why should Gracie be allowed to have his BJJ outfit? Shamrock did use steroids and that was most probably during his WWF run. If Gracie were not allowed to use his bjj outfit and grabbing hair, he would NEVER win the tournament. Also, when the time is up some Gracie yells 3 more minutes and the fight goes on. And when Gracie was exhausted he didn't need to keep fighting a next match same night. It's obvious that 90s UFC was directed in favor for Gracie family. Even in Bellator Gracie won by kneeing Shamrock in the nuts. Whoever got evidence of that Shamrock was on steroids during his MMA run can give me the proof.

He wouldve joined in the 90s/2000s after he was done amateur wrestling but Kurt has said the contract from Vince McMahon was just soo much higher than UFC could offer it was easy for him to stay. Mind u Kurt was getting a few million a year in the 90s. He said UFC offer was one of the highest at the time. I believe Chuck Liddell was the highest and Chuck was getting about a mil a fight. Kurt is still employed by the WWE so he made the right decision for sure.

Yeah, he became so fragile-looking in his later fights.... against Fedor, he looked like a monster (plus since he's a champion in korean folk wrestling, the fans at the time thought that there could be a chance Fedor wouldn't be able to overpower him, and since Choi is a K1 veteran with big names on his record, he could obviously throw a good punch... I remember being pretty nervous for this one) And then during the Super HLUK GP, poor Choi looked so frail against Minowaman (he still was "3 times the size of him" , but still), it was hard not to feel bad for the *Korean Techno Goliath* . The HMC who fought Fedor would have most likely overpowered Minowa, and I'm saying that as a big *Punk* fanboy...

Fun MMA fact: Joe Rogan actually called out Wesley Snipes during a fight on the UFC 56 PPV.... during Gabe Gonzaga vs Kevin Jordan. Was a very slow fight as Gonzaga faced personal tragedy before the fight and Jordan came in out of shape. Joe Rogan’s one and only call out of Snipes on a UFC PPV.

Hell yeah! I LOVED that film as a youngster! "Kumite, kumite, kumite!" And the final "Maaateeea!" at the end of the last fight, I loved every minute. It was a little sad to hear that the story was just all made up in Frank Dux head, but it's still a great entertaining film for sure!

That tale of a second Pride LW GP falling through broke my heart years ago. I would have LOVED prime Gomi vs Melendez in a 161lb GP, but if a guy like Matt Hughes would have came down (seriously doubt it, same with GSP) then they’d take it easily. Yeah Kurt said he got offered to compete in the UFC after the Olympics but the money just wasn't there at the time, he went to pro wrestling where it was. He also tried to go back to Olympic wrestling in his 40s and while his wrestling was still good enough his body just couldn't take it anymore.

There are a surprising number of references to Sean Sherk in these top ten lists! Being a Minnesotan, and formerly living in the same town as Sherk, I've always been a big fan of his. Seeing an MMA fighter you admire at your local grocery store is a surreal sort of feeling. Speaking of Sean Sherk, he had one fight in Pride, at Pride Bushido Vol. 2, against Ryuki Ueyama, who actually wore both wrestling shoes and shin guards, which even had instep guards on them during the fight! I still remember Mauro and Bas commenting on the oddity.
