can i just say as a goodwill employee: if you’re going to sell old clothes, please please please do not go to goodwill or other thrift stores and buy clothes to resell. this drives up the prices of the thrift store and makes it more difficult for people who actually need cheap clothes and shoes to get them. goodwill and most other “non-profit” thrift stores are a bit ethically sketchy to begin with, and making nice clothes and shoes cheaply available to people who need them is one of the few actual good things they do. resellers are undermining this and taking opportunities away from people who need them. I can’t speak for other secondhand retailers, but goodwill is raising its prices, and when a nice blazer or sport coat for a job interview is the difference between getting the job or remaining homeless, resellers can cause real harm.

I definitely recommend any students looking to start a side hustle to do it NOW! I started working full time this year and also started a few side hustles like selling masks and starting a KZbin channel. While it’s really fulfilling, I’m also overwhelmed. I looked back to when I was in high school and uni, and thought of all the time I could have been doing this instead of stressing over studying (without actually studying). A side hustle is not going to affect your study, it’s just going to fill up your procrastination time. If I started in high school I would have felt more fulfilled during university, and my business would be more established by now. You also learn a lot along the way. So don’t hesitate, ask your parents for the starting fund if you need. Start a side hustle now~

It’s helped me so far and I can’t recommend it more! However it will take about five minutes out of your day and checking your bank account, so it’s a responsibility 💛💛

another idea is to make a fiverr account, you can do pretty much anything on there from drawing logos, singing songs, doing voice overs, to things as simple as making discord servers or teaching people how to play video games. you can also do video editing, photo editing, setting up a social media account, making thumbnails...etc. edit: I just thought of another one, you probably can't do this on fiverr but if you are a grid note-taker then you can make digital or paper copies of your notes and sell them (maybe to your classmates, but I'm pretty sure it's illegal to sell this on campus unless its school organized, maybe not though)

I'm not in highschool yet, but my sister-in-law gave me the idea of starting a business in like the middle of last school year. I made $175 selling resin keychains to people at school (and a few bought earrings, I'm not sure exactly how much profit, but if I could get random people off of the street to buy my other keychains, I'd have 100 more dollars). This school year, I want to try selling notebooks, other potential school supplies, having more diverse keychains (I'm working on getting more molds, and I'm definitely going to start much earlier this school year now that I have a plan. Probably not for the first week or few of school (then again, I do know almost everyone in my grade, it's mostly the same people), but not in the middle of the year at random like last year. My friend started selling clay stuff after, which honestly suits her, since she's used to working with clay. I asked her at soccer conditioning if she's going to do it again this year, she said probably not, but I'll encourage her to.

Personally, the best advice I got was from this random book: “The ultimate guide of making money as a teenager: 5 easy ways to earn a small income!” Definitely contained practical advice, albeit it was very small.

I have tried a lot of different things trying to improve my physical and mental health. The one that worked for me was the Forwago personalized program.

I used to babysit my little cousins (3 of them) and make $185 I think it was every two week. Some stuff happened with my aunt though and I had to stop babysitting but I should start babysitting again pretty soon.

I’m actually starting to sell portrait paintings online, and I’m also going to sell my old clothes through poshmark pretty soon. The payout for both isn’t amazing, but it’s a nice start for someone who’s sat around and did nothing for 6 months

Wow, I had no idea valid tutoring sites also offered ESL learning. I have teaching experience, but I would love to tutor general English or English for Japanese students, or tutoring beginner Japanese.. Thank you for posting this and saying encouraging words to people like me who are out of a job and can't go far. Thanks, Jasmine

If you’re a teen and don’t want to or can’t sell stuff online, I recommend participating in a garage sale or flea market on your own or with family/friends. Flea markets do usually charge money to sell your items in a space, but it’s pretty easy to make that back. If you want to make money consistently from “side hustling” it’s pretty crucial to invest. Selling crafts? Invest in the materials to make things you know people would want to buy. Crochet stuff isn’t so easy to come by, and people usually love homemade stuff. I live in an expensive area, yet a yarn ball is $5-$10, you can easily invest from that! (although crocheting does take some time)

ive always been tutoring my classmates, friends, and the other students below my year.. yes i edit their essays.. yes i help them solve in math.. and yes i let them copy my reviewers for free.. ive been doing this since i was in 4th grade, and ive always thought that what im doing for them shouldn't be free at all.. but at the same time i thought i was being selfish and greedy, but no i was wrong 😹😹 it's never greedy and wrong, it's called practicality 😹😹 but yeah, up until now, im in 9th grade i still tutor kids, my classmates and friends for free 😹😹😹 maybe one day, when im finally confident
