If untreated, vitamin b12 deficiency can have severe consequences - including neurological problems like nerve damage, blood diseases like anemia, and physical impairments. Even though the average adult only needs about 2.4 micrograms of vitamin b12 a day, many people don’t get enough from their diet or supplements.
The lack of vitamin b12 is even more prevalent in those who follow a vegan or a vegetarian diet or live with a condition that interferes with nutrient absorption.
Furthermore, vitamin b12 deficiency symptoms are varied and common among other conditions as well; thus, most people easily overlook the signs of a vitamin deficiency until it’s too late. Don’t be one of them!

Wish I would have known about this thing a few months ago. I tested positive for covid in April and I lost my baby in womb at the same time. It was a nine months pregnancy. My gyny didn't suggest anything and didn't gave me any medicine after delivery. They discharged me from hospital after 5-6 hours of delivery as I occupied a bed in covid ward. All of that was so traumatic. I lost my child my physical health and my mental health. My body ran out of vitamin B12 and no doctor identified this problem. Except everyone kept saying that you are in trauma of your child loss that's why you are feeling the pain physically. It is some psychological issue not a health problem. I started seeing psychologist and she told me that your body is in desperate need of vitamin B12. I started taking this vitamin and after 15 days I recovered physically and mentally

I concur! After 20 years of neurological problems, a bright, young neurologist asked me to keep my feet together and close my eyes. I lost my balance completely. He diagnosed me. The B12 deficiency was due to bariatric surgery 25 years ago. Why surgeons doing this op don't reveal the dangers, nobody knows. I now inject myself every week and am slowly recovering.

I started to manifest symptoms (many of them are mentioned in this video) of pretty severe B12 deficiency when I was in my late teens. My Dr. would have me take huge amounts of it on a daily basis for months at a time, only to realize my blood work was still showing a lrg deficiency. One day, he told me he had really been researching about my issue, and he wanted to run a different type of test on my blood. He explained it would look at a specific part of my DNA, and see if I had a certain malabsorption disorder. I agreed, and sure enough, I turned out to have a mutation in my MTHFR gene. Basically, that's the gene that helps metabolize B12 in the body via a process called methylation, thus enabling the body absorb and use the B12 it takes in. Due to this condition, I have to take B12 that's already been methylated if I want my body to absorb and use it. Sry for the long explanation, but I want anyone having a B12 absorption problem to have the same opportunity I did to check out the status of their MTHFR gene, and possibly remedy their situation.

@@subhrarath5140 YES! With your B12 that low, there’s an excellent chance that you will need injections. You may not have enough intrinsic factor in your tummy to be able to take up the B12 by eating/swallowing it. The only way to fix it is through injections. The nurse can give you the injections or they can teach you to do it. It’s a short needle and equivalent to what a diabetic does. It’s also cheap 😊! Sublingual (keep under the tongue) pills are great for this purpose. They absorb directly in the blood stream and the B12 gets absorbed easily While if you swallow pills and you have intrinsic factor imbalance or imbalanced stomach acid, your b12 may not even get absorbed at all.

I was diagnosed with pernicious anaemia a few years ago after suffering mostly the extreme fatigue, weakness and mobility problems (I am disabled by chronic pain anyway as well). I needed blood tests and then two weeks of daily b12 injections as I was so poorly. It helped a bit, however I remain badly anaemic and have high dose Ferrous Sulphate to take each day. It’s an awful condition to have and has stolen my life almost. I’m now bedridden by pain and the weakness. Please everyone take note of what your body is telling you. Love and light to you 🔮✨🕯🌙✨🙏🕯🔮

Hi Frances, do you take a b-complex as well as B12 because B- 12 and iron is not the only thing that help build healthy blood cells. I have been studying nutrition for over 20 years and b vitamins more intensively in the last 4 years and Vitamin b2 and folate especially, also play a huge role in blood cell formation. If pernicious anemia is an autoimmune disorder, the usual underlying trigger of autoimmune diseases is low vitamin B1. If you want a good b-complex, Dr Best activated b-complex is a good one and so is country life coenzymated B-Complex . Being coenzymated or activated helps your body use them much more readily and lowers the risks of negative reactions. If your doctors are willing I would suggest you have them check all your b vitamin levels. The b1 I like is solgar thiamine hcl 500mg. Dr Best Benfothiamine 300 is good too, there is also one called TTFD allithiamine which is good for poor absorption issues or people with severe deficiencies. I would suggest you look up Dr Longsdale. Best wishes to you, I pray you get well soon.

B 12 deficiency can be really dangerous. I was bed ridden for 2 weeks for all the symptoms. I was barely able to walk. I was diagnosed and took control of my health. Started beetroot juice and Pomogranite juice everyday. Being a vegetarian, not many choices to make but started eating all those things that our grandmother's would feed us during childbirth. My grandma would make curries, laddus with seasame seeds.Went back to the basics of organic eating. It worked wonders. I was back to being healthy in less than couple of weeks. Lesson learnt is health is a contious process and need to take care of it well

Symptoms continued so I did my own research and found info on this vitamin and I took it seriously and changed my diet and started this supplement over 4 months to 8 months I noticed a lot of improvement in my balance energy skin tone and my blurry vision improved I am very careful of duet and always take a balanced daily dose of general supplements. @@optimumperformance it’s not the blood test it’s the doctor or his assistant that just takes the piece of paper for granted. You have the right to get your results, even by mail or straight on paper. And then you look it up on the internet. Don’t believe what the lab states as standard, that’s insufficient as it cuts it of at 5% and 95%. So that means if everyone has a b12 deficiency you are within that standard, it doesn’t mean you are all right.

You can also write down everything you have noticed that is mentioned in a list of b12 deficiency symptoms. Mind you, that’s a very long list and a lot of these symptoms occur also in other deficiencies or sickness or whatever. But there are a few sure tell tale signs. Take a good list off the internet and tick yours with the date. You can do that again when you have started taking b12, that way you can see progress. I did that and it was amazing how it cleared up with injections. Bladder infections, incontinence, a sore tongue, tingling of hands and feet, fatigue, depression, they all have their own dynamic. In my case it’s the bladder that reacts first, and right there after it’s the nerve ends in the fingertips and toes. Those are my first signs that tell me I start getting deficiënt again. As long as you have those don’t reduce your dose or slow down your intake. I still take a shot of 10.000 mg weekly and sublinguals after 9 years. And I have done what I can about my stomach lining. That has improved, I don’t suffer from stomachache anymore the way I did but the intrinsic factor hasn’t returned so far.

I was diagnosed with pernicious anemia 3 yrs ago. I had a B12 level of 53. I suffered from extreme fatigue, balance issues, the sore tongue, moodiness and shortness of breath. At the time I also had dvt and pulmonary embolisms. I was prescribed a series of b12 shots once a week and once a month thereafter. I wanted to note that I have long suffered from gastro intentestinal issues for several years. I had a few of the symptoms described.
