One thing that I find absolutely useless in 2042: The squad system. What's the point of having different squad members if they all go off and do their own thing? Why work as a team when you can literally have a machine gun, a recoiless M5 and the ability to glide?

What I find really annoying is this. You get killed. You wait 20 seconds for a medic. You get revived and you get instantly kiled again and sent back to the deploy screen. And what does BF2042 do? It hits you with a 13 second respawn timer. WTF? The normal respawn when you skip the down stage is 3 seconds. Why am I getting punished for beeing punished?

#2 is absolutely my most despised thing about the game. "What a time to be alive!!" Fucking really?? They had the most interesting setting for military shooters, and they completely fucking botched it. Hopefully the new studio leads can eventually fix it, but it's still absolutely ridiculous and embarrassing how badly DICE executed it.

Those Sundance's anti-armor grenades are really busted. I had a situation when it basically bounced off an enemy tank and started flying towards an enemy chopper which was 1km away.

Yeah i have that issue alot, i throw the grenade straight at the vehicle i want to target and the grenade shoots off on a 90° angle and across the map to blow up 20 metres behind a heli

im trying to tier 1 her. so far im at 650 and i think ONE of those kills is with the armour nades. as you say they fuck off into orbit, i would literally be better throwing a potato at them. they lock onto the furthest target every time. and the scatter nades often vanish as soon as you get shot. which seems to stop grinding so easily. also i dont think the assists seem to count like it states

Pro tip guys: when the “game starting” countdown is happening, you can see the map you are going to load into in the bottom right of the screen, and if it’s a map you don’t want to play, you can press the cancel button. Just a little work around. No idea why they just wouldn’t copy paste the server browser from BFV..

Yeah it's a workaround but it's still wasted time in queuing up and canceling out. Just give us the freaking server browser. Can't play with more than 3 friends with the current matchmaking. So many of the things we hate about 2042 were so easy for EA/DICE to get right. Server browser is one of them.

When all the pre-release hate started, I defended the game and was so fed up with people complaining about a game that hadn’t even come out yet.. I really wanted this game to be good. I was so excited. But all ten of these points hold true. And so many little things are missing that made me love BF4, 1, and V. First person view when downed and when doing melee takedowns, voice lines and atmosphere, operations, outstanding music... it just doesn’t feel fun. The gunplay feels shotty, the maps feel almost too big and I don’t feel like I can stick with friends, objectives are really far apart... It just.. it’s disappointing. Really disappointing. I have basically no interest in playing it.

The "Specialists" aren't special at anything if they can all equip any weapon and gadget. They only have different gimmicks with few being marginally useful despite being shown as having roles such as "Assault, Engineer, etc". I'd like to see the weapons and gadgets restricted to the roles each character has been labelled as so that it's closer to a class system.

I disagree with the weapons part, the gadgets make sense to be restricted but weapons should stay open. What if someone wants to play as assault with a PDW or support with a rifle. I don’t have a problem with the specialists but they should at least have the gadgets locked to certain classes.

@@AnonDegenerate in battlefield v the meta was smgs specifically the type 2a, so some players ran medic and didn’t revive because they wanted to use the gun not the class. This is the problem with locking guns to specific classes.

Different classes support different types of play styles so you have to play a certain type of way in order to be effective with a class. 2042 does not have this and the “classes” are completely transparent with one another making it pointless anyway.

Honestly I think the specialist sistem, in a BR they would have fit perfectly but for normal BF i think they really hurt the immersion of the game, and also the map design not only are they stupid big but the lack of cover makes it so that traversing the map as infantry is very jarring unless you have a vehicle

Personally haven't had this issue, but in general I've never played BF games as a "Use the whole map" kinda game, I generally just stay in the place I spawned in. The exception being when I'm tank hunting with Sundance and C4, then i just climb high and glide after finding a tank on the big map

I think that's the underlying issue, this is a BR game masquerading as a Battlefield game. The huge empty maps, 128 player count, and most evident of all are the Specialists which only exist to shill cosmetics/skins.

When the game starts, all the vehicles spawn in relatively close and I see everyone crashing into eachother. Does it not bother anyone that there isn't any boats or jet skis? I know not all maps have water but my point is that there's no map specific vehicles. Its the same couple of vehicles for every map Another thing that's crawling in my skin is the tiny amount of everything. The operators, the guns, the vehicles and maps. To me, it feels like there's a lot of micro purchase content in the future. Gun packs, map packs, camo packs, etc. I hope I'm wrong and they just give it all to us for free via updates

I havent played it beside the beta ( not even 1 hour ) , all I can say is that I support all of your 10 points. And on top of that, at least for me , I dont like how the characters move. It feels so clunky, hastly , instead of the smooth animations we are used to from other Battlefield games. This one feels more like a Battlefield that wants to be a CoD/BattleRoyal game kinda thing. I fully agree with all of you about the state of the game and the many problems it has. Dice should really rethink if they want to fix everything or be remembered as EA's bitch. However I do also think people overreact about the game being so boring and uninteresting. I am trying the game on EA play and I must say it is very fun. Climbing up with a tank on the oil rig in Antarctica on last objective is pretty fun ngl. And playing portal is also very enjoyable. I do agree the game has tons of problems but it has it's moments nonetheless.

Question: What part of the last 7 years of FPS gaming made you think that was gonna happen? When was the last time any major shooter producing company actually released a finished game with loads of content? My guy, that doesn't happen in today's era of gaming, and it's likely not gonna happen for another few years until games become moderated. Don't pre-order games and sure as fuck don't pay full price for a shooter, or any game really, the industry has been doing this for nearly a decade, they release an unfinished game, early, because now we have the tech to update games through the internet, and MAYBE they'll fix it later or maybe they won't.

BFBC1 is better in everyway except graphic and sound than 2042. You want some shooter that was better than this at there released ? Titanfall 2, star wars battlefront 2, BF1, BF5 (even with the bugs) rainbow six siege, halo infinite, halo 5, back 4 blood and I can continue like that they all had bugs and some of them still have some but still you can have fun and you can feel that the games have potential not like this trash that I don’t even know how they will recover from this

@@Dan2257 The difference is a negligible non factor, you may not have fun but it's not that way for me and many others so that's a subjective thing bringing us back to: Nearly every shooter in 7 years. And a comparison between that and an older game means fuck all. Physics are programmed different, that's a choice. Content wasn't there? Yeah not surprising, the game we had years ago had one release and no updates aside from performance updates, if it didn't nail it first time it didn't land at all, not the case anymore because every game in nearly a decade has updated after the launch date to "Fix" things. Nothing that has happened here is new in any way, and you've clearly been around a while if you've played those games so how the hell can you act surprised by this? It's been happening for so long there's literally a new generation of players who have gone from toddlers to prepubescence with this shit as the norm, and you wonder how they have the balls to do this? 6 year olds likely have a more realistic expectation of what this was gonna be like than you do mate, cmon! It was unfinished, the degree of that doesn't matter, it's slowly been getting worse and worse. BF1 had bugs, BFV had worse ones, this is worse still. That's a trend, and a damn obvious one. They release a game at full price, unfinished, and slowly fix it in post for the rest of it's lifetime because that's what technology lets them do now, Is it right that the industry is like this? no. Does that change the fact that you're acting like a shocked victim to a mugging that was fucking arranged via email nearly a decade ago? FUCK no.

Sometimes you spawn in and you can't pick anything you want are stuck with a default assault rife for example and you can't pick the attachments you unlocked and make the mistake of instead ofnexiting server you create a class with what u want only to find out it didn't work and your stuck on default, and to too it off once match ends you find out all your custom attachments on the guns were reset to default

Tip: you can see what map you are deploying to before the loading screen. So just cancel it and wait a little bit and then search again

I think it’s time for EA to drop the battlefield series, shutdown DICE Sweden because it’s fucked up every game it’s made (DICE LA, now Ripple Effect, has bailed them out by fixing BF4, SWBF2, and BF5), and just make a new FPS. If they want to go BR or hero shooter and make it free to play that’s fine, but the BF franchise is dead and looks to be no longer marketable because everyone goes to the previous titles and DICE can’t make a working game. I feel like it’s time to start fresh, but we’ll see what EA does

The 'black boxes' at the spawn screen. Can't choose your loadout AND it resets all the vehicle settings back to default. This number ONE for me, especially since DICE 'fixed' this issue once already.

Yes, it happens to me almost every single game at least once if I use vehicles at all. It’s gotten to the point that I’m afraid to use transport vehicles so I just run everywhere or kill myself so I don’t have to run for 20 minutes.

my biggest problem in battlefield 2042 rn is the recoil control on console and as someone who plays since battlefield 3 i always find myself enjoying playing bf4 way more than bf2042. I agree with you for the most part. The intro clips could just be tweaked like the first one make the pan quicker. Instead of showing the cinematic clip at the end and then spawning, have it before the top down pan that way it makes it a bit more flashy imo.

To me, when i was spending time on singleplayer in 2042, the AI sometimes camp your spot, I once played menifest with a f35 on conquest, and a enemy tank just spawn camped me

i agreed on 9 point of your video @TBAG. however. The progress for your favorite map can easely be avoided. The moment you press quick play and you see the animation of the Ossprey landing on the right side of your screen you see a map of the world with the location which map you are going to get. so far for me this has bin a 99% accuracy of the map loading once it found a server. if you cancel the search during this match searching you save alot of time loading the actual map.

correct, besides you can see the side you are about to join. In BT, you have to remember only on which maps are the Russians are attacking (Discarded, Orbital, Kaleidoscope). + another annoying thing about the matchmaking, that it allways starts to find another server after a game has been ended. So, you can't foresee which map is coming... Not like Rush, where the whole team was sticking together for the whole rotation (Orbital, Discarded, Renewal, Hourglass, Kaleidoskope, Breakaway, Manifest -> then Orbital again, but with side change for a couple of weeks until they removed the side change too).

The thing that annoys me the most about this game is getting killed by someone who had no footstep audio or by someone on the other side of the map with a sniper rifle. Also the fact that as a regular infantry player you cannot damage vehicles at all without AP rounds or explosives, which you don't always have. I think there should be some sort of takedown mechanic where if you get close enough to a vehicle you can jump on it and drop a grenade inside to blow it up/kill the crew.

Sad to see. No campaign is a bummer. I’d probably only be playing that if it was included.

What annoys me the most is I always get the map hourglass and there is always enemies camping on the top of B1 on conquest. It really annoys me and they should a a zip line from the building next to it so you can zip line across and not be blown up in a elevator

this is the reason i play on solo/co-op, it's way easier to get a vehicle and level stuff up since maps are smaller, also why is there a spawn timer for the player and vehicle in solo/co-op and portal with no way to change it

7:50 a bit of a reminder, during the first couple of months of BFV's release, everyone was force-spawned at the beginning of the round. I think we all remember seeing the videos of those guys who spawned in bombers and proceeded to rack up 15+ kill streaks in one run on the enemy spawn (and I'm sure some of us were a victim of that). It was so bad that DICE eventually stopped force-spawning in BFV. Well I guess they somehow forgot about all of that and now we see repeats of the past with people jet ramming the enemy spawn with varying degrees of success.

I have a suggestion for the specialist system. If it is there to stay then break it up so that certain specialists heal teamates, certain specialists can carry AA guns and certain specialists carry ammo and certain ones can snipe. When every specialist can carry a rocket launcher, heal, and use a sniper, it loses the core of battlefield games. Each specialist has a unique gimmick like the grappling hook or ranged healing, but they should still fill out one of the squad roles if that makes sense.

PC version: 1. Not being able to use the primary weapon. Just cannot switch to it, mostly after using a vehicle but sometimes just randomly. 2. (Randomly) Not being able to set down Boris' turret and also sometimes Angel's supply drop. 3. Not being able to revive if the body model is partly inside a wall or another obstacle. 4. Graphics settings not getting applied. When changing from medium to high during a session, it does not get applied. Starting a new session also did not make the changes. Only restarting Origin and the game finally changed it. 5. (Randomly) Having to watch the intro and being loaded into the "intro" mission again. Also, this usually resets all attachments for the last used weapon but not any others.

I really feel like the specialist system should have been more of an expansion on the classes rather than a replacement. Sorta like a mesh between the roles and elites in BF5. You have your generic soldiers for general use in the class, and the specialists cater to specific playstyles. They can keep the special gadgets I suppose, but don't force us to use them.

In my opinion this is what they do though. Angel is a armour/ammo resupplier with flex support if you set up multiple classes, Falck is a purely health refill based character that's pretty good at holding locations because you can set stims by shooting the ground so when you take a hit you can step back and it'll hit you. Sundance is perfect for hunting specific targets from vehicles to snipers. Paik is pretty much a walking Sensor grenade. Irish is point defence entirely, If you actually hop on friendly tanks you can set up trophy systems around them to help protect them from AT players when they stop to fight Dozer is good at peeking and pushing unknown areas Casper is a scout/surveillance flex into tank hunter if you really want Sentry turret guy is perimeter defence with his turret being able to alert you to targets Rao is a fantastic Vehicle support character with his ability to disable enemy vehicles temporarily and especially with AA he excels as a hack will remove enemy counter measures. They all have their Niche playstyle to them, You can just play them the same but that's kinda how it's always been, the only real difference is that secondary gadgets allows you to play to every capacity a lil bit and it means you're not entirely helpless in every situation yenno? It's slightly less identity to each one but I don't consider that a bad thing considering alot of the other Games had a problem with giving you the option to NOT do your job. I mean, the amount of medics in older games that didn't even carry defibrillators or revive syringes? The support players in BF1 that carried a mortar and an explosive crossbow? You could be surrounded by medics and supports and you'd run outta ammo and go down without anyone being like "Oh yeah, That's my job" So losing the class identity doesn't hurt anything for me and I much prefer the autonomy you can have in this game. It's not perfect, but I don't agree that specialists are a bad thing or executed particularly poorly. If I had to change anything, I'd just take all of the specialist perks and gadgets and make them part of the gadget pool to pick and choose from, with specialists being a cosmetic only thing but eh, the difference is negligible

And to be fair a lot of the problems with the games state isn't even really the fault of the devs. This game has been made with next gen in mind and most people are stuck on last gen due to shortages with covid. Again not really an excuse but for me it's more understandable why the game is the way it is for so many people. It's a mess for sure but for once it's not entirely just scummy practice.

@@pugasaurusrex8253 not really, Literally just adding those features to the loadout menu Like Sundances wingsuit is a passive, and dozers shield is a gadget so having them both in the equipment pool to pick and mix would be nice The biggest issue I have with the system is that it's straddling a line it doesn't need to straddle. If they didn't want classes, fine. If they wanted specialists okay, but they kinda just sit on the edge so I'd prefer if they ignored that and just made all of the year available for whoever. Passives and tactical available for whoever and however you wanna mix it. Paiks passive on dozers shield would be nice, Hitting the shield marks you. The specialists themselves are in limbo so, drop them as a gameplay concept, transfer all their shit to a loadout pool and make cosmetics for the characters however they want. It's honestly closer to how COD is currently handling "Specialists" I mean, specialists are a vehicle for selling cosmetic MXTs, as a gameplay component they're really not all that worth keeping. There's nothing really wrong with them, but nothing really gained with them either

Things that impact my game-play: - Maps are bad and I can't choose my own map pool. Some maps are pretty bad for infantry, some just bad in general :) - Can't change the squad. I very often get stuck in a squad with 2 or even 3 useless snipers on Rush. About that, there is actually a way to do that on PC at least but it switches you between just 2 squads for some reason - press ESC - choose squad and players or something - right click on you name. - I want to mention the thing that nobody does for some reason - weapons and attachments unlock system. It was present before 2042 though. What if I don't have time to spend weeks and months to do all that? I'm clearly at disadvantage comparing to others if I don't do that. Basically you pay full price but buy just a half of the game.
