I agree with most of these, but I gotta grease my scalp. I don’t do it everyday, but once a week after I wash it, I use grease to help me seal in moisture and keep my scalp from flaking

I have 4b/4c hair and I’ve worn wash and go’s for the past few years and had been struggling with growth and length retention. I didn’t have a problem with tangling but I would always get fairy knots which would cause dryness problems. Now I’ve been wearing braids and wigs and my hair is growing like crazy. When I first went natural I wore twists out but I stopped because they took too long because I would do it at night and at that time I was in high school. I definitely think that I had to gain a certain level of patience. I mainly finger detangle now and I don’t wash as often. I’ve found products that work for me and I stick to them. I’m okay with my hair being frizzy and aren’t obsessed with perfect curl definition and wanting looser curls. I’ve embraced how kinky and coily my hair is and now it’s longer than it’s ever been. I will say I do use grease (GASP). I know. Specifically I use light Sulfur 8. I’ve gone without it any my scalp will be WHITE it’s so dry and itchy an flaky.

My mom bleached mine for the first time back in 2015, my hair would be bra strap length by now but I wasn't taking care of it, it was dry and I had went to get a Dominican blow out 2016. All I smelled was burntness 😦😦 and it was long but damaged and she cut all the damage off, which hurt, but needed to be done, so I'm glad I ran into this and learning because man...ugh SO THANK YALL

QUESTION.... how do we do protective styles without heat? my stylists usually have me blow dry my hair before putting in a protective style (braids, faux locs) i only get these styles about twice a year, but blow dry at those times... i dont like to, but i like the protective opportunity.
