These tips are great, but the most important thing that she said "I whispered to my hair and said 'grow' and it grew." We don't realize that our mind is a very powerful thing. Your body follows your mind! If you believe that your hair takes long to grow and/or that it stops growing at some point, then that will be your truth and your reality. I think it's smart that she views her hair as a plant because we usually don't have those beliefs about plants. We all know that if you water a plant and create the right environment then it WILL grow. We don't view a plant as something that is dead but still needs water lol. And for those who believe its her genes...majority of us are mixed with something.

1. No heat, or reduce heat as much as possible. Focus on health! Clip dead/damaged ends. 2. Read the labels on products to know what you're putting on your hair, water based products only 3. Use water based products, especially on ends 4. Deep condition frequently (proteins, nutrients), focus on ends, once a week 5. Creating a regimen to get hair accustomed to certain things 6. Keep ends protected! Sleep on satin, put hair in buns, use microfibre towel or t-shirt 7. Seal in that moisture! Use oils or heavy butter e.g. jojoba, olive, argan oil 8. Massage your scalp using palm of fingers to increase blood circulation in area 9. Wear low manipulation styles, give time for hair to breath in sew ins 10. Be gentle with hair, work in sections when detangling, use water and product

Unfortunately, most people won't achieve this much length in this short of a time period. Clearly, Nia has fast hair growth in her genes and that's what contributes to her rapid hair growth. Only thing she can give tips on is length retention. It's kinda irritating when some KZbinrs who give tips on how to grow hair fast don't realize that it's determine by genes and that they clearly have quick hair growth in their DNA, not because they deep condition it every week and do hot oil treatments (not Nia).
@LifeWithLoni6 жыл бұрын
oihcam22 so would you say deep conditioning and hot oil treatments don’t contribute to faster hair growth?
@hellow41306 жыл бұрын
Life With Loni They do not. They contribute to length retention.
@tiffanyelainestubbsfarrull22046 жыл бұрын
Life With Loni yea no they are right. The growth rate that comes out of your scalp stays the same regardless of products and regimen. It's the length retention from properly caring for, protective styling, moisturizing and deep conditioning etc that keep your hair from getting breakage and shedding there for seeing the actual length your getting
@snicky826 жыл бұрын
Facts! I tell people this ALL the time. It’s balls down to genetics. This girl cut most of her hair off and it was shorter than mine and in just a little over a year her hair is twice my length. Every tip she’s mentioned Ive done. You can do things to maintain length but everyone’s hair grows differently. She’s a prime example of that. Love her hair btw!
@67Geezy6 жыл бұрын
@@tiffanyelainestubbsfarrull2204 Hair has a cycle of growth and every living person with hair (exclude ppl suffering from alopecia and receiving cancer treatment) has this same cycle. Diet, medication, genes, stress facts and environment all have an impact on the condition of your hairs follicles and deep layers of the hair shaft. Length retention is all about your hair routine regimes...
@Melodious06156 жыл бұрын
I hate when some people say it just genetics that grew her hair.... yea I know genetics has something to do with it, but some of those same people who say that are the main ones not taking care of their hair enough to let genetics do what it could do in the growth department. I say that because I was one of those people who wasn’t doing deep conditioning or sleeping with my head covered and then I was looking at the next person like man her hair grew fast or it’s looking so healthy y is mine not looking good...probably just genetics. Naw I was teaming up with genetics to hold up my end of the bargain up for healthy growth and thickness. When I did these things I went from shoulder length to bra strap in a short amount of time.
@toniahobbs50746 жыл бұрын
Exactly, this hair journey is not for the lazy person. If you are lazy yes your hair is going to always stay in braids, under wigs and weave. Notice when your mom did your hair it was long, healthy all down your back cause she washed it. Conditioned it and greased it once every week or two weeks. She had a routine. She kept that hair healthy in protective ponytail hair styles or plated up. So we as adults have to do the same thing. ( I dont mean you personally, I am speaking in general)
@Jezzhalo6 жыл бұрын
thats exactly how i feel, thanks
@jemmcgregor10735 жыл бұрын
Tonia Hobbs - Exactly!!! You r right. Genetics may play a part but treating your hair with care is the key to length. Come to think of it, I had very thick long hair pass my shoulders when my mama did my hair as a child. She washed my hair every 2 weeks. And you know being a teenager you think your all grown up and I made the choice to relax my hair. My mom told me not to do it. My mom was right. My hair damaged using relaxer. Today I'm natural...been natural for 9 years but never took the time to moisturize and the mama routine. My hair is not shoulder length. But I do see the difference of moisturizing. Basically. I'm doing my mama routine again and my hair is looking healthy. I'm talking to my hair and loving my hair to grow shoulder length and pray to pass shoulder length.

I have a scalp condition (SD aka seborrheic dermatitis) and so I need to use a good cleansing sulfate shampoo. I have tried it all (ACV, citric acid rinses, sulfate-free, CO-washing) and it just does not work well for me, it exacerbates my scalp condition. But a sulfate works, it just does and so I stick to that. To combat this dryness on my length (as I have butt length hair), I do double conditioning, or double masking, or a mask and a conditioner after washing and it helps me hugely. Sometimes it's about having a healthy scalp. Healthy scalp, healthy growth.

I literally follow all of these tips and my hair has grown so much! I relaxed my hair in 2016 after being natural for almost 4 years and I big chopped in July 2017 after transitioning for a couple of months and my hair was so short. I would say I had three inches of new growth and now my hair is pretty much at neck length. The longest part goes to my shoulder blade when I pull my curls, even though I have tons of shrinkage I can still see my growth and other people have noticed it too. And I hope to get my hair even longer! Your hair is beautiful btw and I love the fullness of it. Oh and I have not put any heat to my hair since May of 2017 when I was still transitioning

I transitioned when I first went natural, but the difference for me was that I went to a salon that specialized in ONLY natural hair. This was 9 years ago, but at the time I was going there I was able to wear my hair straight while going through the transition process because at the time that’s what I preferred. I was able to have healthy hair even though the transition stage and wearing it straight and I commend the hairstylist that I was going to back then that made the process so easy. Hair can and will grow if one chooses to transition because hair is always growing and it’s growing through the scalp ☺️ Back then I wasn’t really into wearing my curls I preferred straight hair and it was still healthy as long as I went to a professional to keep it that way. The thing I cared about most was that my hair was natural (no more relaxer) Lol 😄 So anyone that cares about immediately wearing their natural curls should just go with a big chop because transitioning definitely takes time. Then again, some people just don’t want to big chop until their hair reaches a length their most comfortable with. Everybody should do what makes them happy in the end 😁

NaturalGlory • single strand knots are pretty natural though. It depends on how curly your hair is. That's why ppl w/ looser patterns wouldn't exactly experience ssk b/c their hair isn't so curly that it curls into itself. Weird if you think about how they even form 😅 but I've learned to just leave mines alone. Def try keeping your hair more moisturized or its easy to feel them when your hair is dry Don't get me wrong I do snip the extra big feeling knots but other than that I leave it be

Everybody's hair grows at similar rates. Tip #1 Don't be dead. As long as you're alive, your hair will grow, guys. My genetics are not only African but European and Cuban ancestry as well, but more African genetics hair grows at same length as everyone else's. She mentioned retention. That is the only variable that we can manipulate but everybody's hair grows. Don't be fooled. Low manipulation and moisyturzation is the key to retention. Period.

Don’t be good as if I’m out here spreading false information. It’s easy to say everyone’s hair grows at the same rate, yet people out here no growing hair 🙄

I've been stuck at the same length for a while. I feel like it might be growing but I just don't see it when it's dry and styled. I have a healthy hair routine. I wash every week, deep condition 3 times a month and I just started adding protein in once a month. I dyed my hair but my curls are still the same as when it wasn't dyed. I don't use heat like ever and I use healthy products. Idk i used to have dreadlocks and my hair was past BSL but now it seems like it will never grow.

Jasmin Dean do things that stimulate your scalp like massaging it with an oil like peppermint oil ( mixed with coconut oil or your base oil of choice ( olive oil, grape seed oil etc )to dilute it )
@tiffanyelainestubbsfarrull22046 жыл бұрын
Are you trimming? Your hair is growing love. Hair growth comes from the scalp. It will never stop growing unless you have a condition. What your experiencing is not seeing any length retention because your most likely getting breakage and shedding. Take a look at the products your using. Are they actually penetrating your hair shaft? Are you then sealing in the moisture with something thick like a cream, butter or oil? You need to know your hair porosity. And you could be protein sensitive meaning too much protein will give you dry hair and start breaking
@jd.42446 жыл бұрын
Tiffany elaine stubbs Farrulla-yilbasi I am trimming. I recently noticed my ends were shabby and had a bit of damage in the back of my hair, I evened it out to also give my hair some shape. But I am experiencing shedding. Not a crazy amount but I do notice that it happens very often. I also get alot of single strand knots. I don't know my hair porosity but I know my hair is thick and I use shea butter to seal in my hair creams/milks. It stays moisturized for a good week before I need to rewash.
