Great information Mike and Janet!! Another thing is discuss and come to an agreement with the landlord is how the rent is to be paid. Many want post dated checks, which is not a good thing. Or can you pay cash, or wire transfer the money directly into the owners bank account. So important to discuss, and have it documented like you talked about repairs. All too many landlords want the tenant to shoulder the cost of repairs, or even replace something that can not be fixed. One guy was told he had to buy a new refrigerator because the original one crapped out, and was told, well it was working before you moved in. LOL.

The only person on the face of the earth I would give a post-dated check to would be my mother or father, and of course they would never ask for that.. anybody is a fool that gives a post-dated check to anyone, especially in the Philippines.."seek and ye shall find" a decent and normal landlord.. and always listen to people like Mike and Janet that have experience and know what they are talking about👍👍

Another great video Mike and Janet. I just received my ACR-1 card and extended my Visa for the third time. Very quick and easy process. I was out of the Immigration office in 10 minutes. Soon I’ll be looking for a long-term rental I do love Valencia 🙌❤️ Looking forward to meeting you two soon.

@@richardhowe5583 i’m not sure I did not ask. I initially did my first 30 day extension online, then I went into the immigration office the first time to extended for an additional two months. Yesterday, I just went into the immigration office again for another two month extension.

So glad I watched you and Paul before coming I had air bnb for 30 days in Cebu spent a lot on taxis looking at houses but my thinking worked out ok yeah first 30 days was expensive but found house 30 minutes from city 15k 4 beds walk to market trike to Gasano taxi or bus back to city can't believe I hardly ever see another foriegner here miss having good conversation once in a while face to face FB is good but not like in person plenty in the city I'll be talking someone girlfriend might walk off leave me talking she says she understands but anyway good video Mike and Janet

From what I heard previously I thought seniors who were foreigners were not given the same courtesy in lines as natives. It's good to know that isn't true, but at the same time we are raised to not cut in line unless someone volunteers to allow you to go ahead of them. That kind of thing usually happens in grocery stores, when someone sees you only have a few items and they have a lot more, and it doesn't depend on age either.

This maybe OFF TOPIC or not , I was wondering if there are any multi unit rental locations where a HANDYMAN would be able to get FREE/REDUCED rent for doing REPAIR work in that complex? I know someone there in Dumaguete has rooms, share twin, 1500 peso per month, ideal for students or a bit broke and need a place that you can put your head down and thats dry.
