Mareanie responding to Corsola's calls for help makes sense. Mareanie are Corsola's natural predators, and in real life, predators respond to the distress calls of prey since they know they're gonna get an easy meal. It's real live animal behavior. Ya love to see it.

You seem to have forgotten that the honey tree mechanic was also time sensitive, which required you to wait 6 hours of real time after slathering honey, and could not be time skipped afaik. So, if you failed to encounter Munchlax, you had to slather more honey and wait another 6 real time hours.

And to make matters worse, you cannot save prior to seeing which Pokemon you got because the game selects the Pokemon when you slather honey in the tree, not when you interact with it when it is shaking.

i have a munchlax caught in an honey tree in pokémon pearl and never evolved it to this day, i found it by acident when i was trying to get an heracross for my sinnoh team, and i ended up finding a munchalx first, eventually found the heracross some days later in the same honey tree, that one after the cicling road close to oreburg. Took me about 5 days i think to find it

I once tried to find Feebas in Emerald and ended up finding a Shiny Carvanha, but no Feebas. So for me it was literally harder to find than a Shiny. At least I actually have got a Munchlax from a tree.

Politoed was a pain in Sun and Moon too. Only found by SOS chaining Poliwag, at night, in the rain where the player must set rain or the catch window is further limited to one hour each day when an in-game rainstorm occurs . It took me hours.

Salamence in Alola, and I really mean Mence, not Baygon. 1% chance to encounter Baygon, who then itself has a 1% chance to call Mence for help if I recall correctly

Munchlax can only be found in 4 out of the 21 honey trees in Sinnoh, but there is no ingame way of figuring out which are, so you have to slather them all with honey. Then you have to wait 6 hours to see what you find, and you have a 10% of not finding anything. And munchlax is a 1% encounter. So focusing only on the 4 Munchlax trees we have 4 × 9/10 × 1/100 = 36 / 1000 or 3.6% chance (approximately because the calculation is actually more complex) every 6 hours. Assuming you do this process 3 times per day (at 9, 15 and 21 hours for example) you have around 10% chance of finding Munchlax per day. So a week of constant grinding give you over a 50% chance of finding one, but you need 22 days of constant grinding to have over 90% chance. It's insane. Even more than Feebas, which in RSE has fixed locations, but in DPPt its locations are reshuffled every day.

One Pokémon that I find hard to catch is in silver crystal and gold which is Phanphy If you don’t really know where it’s at it can be very difficult to find especially since you can only catch it way early in the morning but very early on in the game like it can be part of the first Pokémon you catch which you can easily miss it

I would have put Sizzlipede would be one, has it has a 1% chance of being caught on Route 3 in Sword & Shield - if not for the guaranteed encounter in Motostoke Stadium during the gym challenge.

There’s a really easy way to get it to appear though, put a Pokémon with flash fire at the head of your party and sizzlipede is almost guaranteed to appear in the next patch of shaking grass

When it comes to finding Munchlax, try hunting for him in Legends Arceus. In the Obsidian Fields, he only show up in one location near that second camp (forgot the name) and most of the time you'll come across a Kricketot. And, you run the risk of him fleeing if he sees you.

8:05 You can encounter a wild Haganēru in the Shin'ou Champion Road. No need to trade-evolve Iwāku holding a Metal Coat. The only downside is you will not get boosted exp. since the ID matches your Trainer Card.

I'd say Feebas and Bagon as well, but in different games. Feebas in DPP/BDSP because it only shows up on four tiles in Mt. Coronet which change daily. Bagon on Route 3 in the Gen 7 games because it's those specific ones who can call in a low level Salamence

Not only is their favorite prey alerting them to its presence, it’s also letting them know it’s weak and an easy target. All they have to do is finish it off, which they do Same thing happens with Sableye and Carbink

Kangaskhan is actually relatively easy to find in Gen 2, in Rock Tunnel in the post game. No need to deal with annoying Safari Zone mechanics from Gen 1, or what you were explaining in the later Gens

Irritating doesn't begin to describe the Safari Zone catching mechanism. Kangaskahn, Pinsir, and Chansey are certainly worthy additions to this list. Good thing you can get buy Scyther and Pinsir at Celadon's Game Corner (and even better for the Gen1 duplication tricks for nuggets). When I got to Cerulean Cave and saw Chansey there, you can imagine my frustration on spending so much time in the Safari Zone to catch it.

You can also add Houndour in the number 10 spot. It is locked until after Elite 4 on Route 7 during the night in Kanto (Celadon region but not in Crystal version) But at least it can be found WAY before Mount Silver but the Dark/Fire dog stats aren't that great for a late game pokemon

You could probably count feebas for both gen 3 and 4. For me it's skarmory in gen 2 and collesium the one pokemon that kept me from 100 percentage. Also you can get larvatar in crystal at celedon game corner but it's expensive

Corsola isn't calling for Mareanie. It's calling out for help, which lets anyone nearby know that it is a Corsola in distress and in need of help. A wild Mareanie hears this and is like, "Oh, boy, easy prey!". In order to find a Mareanie, you have to hook a Corsola and use it as live bait. That is dark as hell and also ingenious and I respect it.

I think i got lucky catching a Mareanie in Moon without too much hassle. I think Kangaskhan in Moon was more of a pain for me with Cubone having to sos it. For some reason it took over 2 hours before one showed up for me. Don't believe other people had to wait that long.

In pokemon crystal you can buy a larvitar in the celadon city game corner for a couple of coins. So its still late game but not mt silver level late game i guess xD

In RSE, Chimecho on Mt. Pyre. Sure it's a 2 percent encounter and by the time you reach Mt. Pyre you would likely have a better psychic type anyway. Still , all you'll mostly encounter are shuppets and Duskulls. Feebas was originally eluding my reach but aside from exploits or cheats in recent years, I've gotten lucky in Ruby, Sapphire or Emerald catching them. Bdsp I used an exploit. Still never caught that blasted Munchlax from a honey tree.

It's not that hard to find really. B2W2 it's gifted. XY find Zoroark is in the Pokemon Village. S&M Zorua can be found at the school I believe. S&S can be found in the fog. S&V find it impersonating other pokemon

Me and all friends agree that rare Pokémon shouldn't exist specifically the ones that are inconsistent. I think all Pokémon should be common and obviously Legendarys are rare but for the right reasons. I just know my least favorite thing about Pokémon is rare Pokémon that shouldn't be rare.
