100 RIMWORLD FACTIONS IS BROKEN (and Hospitality too)

Today in Rimworld, we're going to be devastating the entire planet's populations with 100 ecosystem annihilating factions and a 1,000 visitors ready for consumeristic consumption of overpriced nutrient paste made of their friends. All this, with the hospitality mod that adds visitor mechanics and more in depth hotel systems make for a cash-stealing combo that allows us to (illegally) extract all the money from the whole planet's tourist population by shoving them in a crammed space full of insects. Not sure if its another mod doing this, but my favorite part of having a high amount of factions is like 30 or 40 days in, you get a friendly caravan for every faction that's neutral with you, back-to-back-to-back. You get lots of raids though, so it's particularly hellish that month.

One thing I've never understood about Hospitality is why it angers the other faction when you recruit their pawn. It's not like I kidnapped them, they joined by choice. Why be pissed off with me?

I'd be FURIOUS. It's like if you SOMEHOW recruited my best people and turned them against me. Like Toguro, my unarmed melee specialist who kills VOID troops like most pawns kill kiwi birds. Or Lahmizzash, my sniper who can solo raids. Or Andrea, the Technomancer builder / crafter who churns out Masterwork and Legendary things faster than you can say Ate Without A Table. I'd be LIVID. The people who recruited my best folks would be taken alive. And then, I would do things so terrible to them, that it would make the Devil weep in horror.

a chaotic choice to go with hospitality is mutanite beds from pawnmorpher. these beds are actually slightly more comfortable (lol), but do run the risk of causing consciousness-reducing pain and requiring medical intervention.

How you play then? With or without mods? If you play 100factions, u obviously without mods. And if without mods, your game feel less interesting. Rimworld is about quality over quantity, u know

By finding another game that also a longterm game. Like.. Cities Skylines, sims 4, civilization, banished, stuff like that. The more "veteran" you are in the gaming world, the more you will appreciate and wanting to play this kind of game. Newcomers will be like.. Playing FPS or racing game or RPG. But the veterans be like.. playing city/colony/empire building game.

What about using the My Little Planet mod? Adds in smaller planets so it doesn't take as long for the world to load! Heck, even at the second highest size, load times are still hella quicker! Prob won't help with faction list lag tho. That's on you, boo boo

What about going into the Programming and show people how to change Settings, like Changing Stockpiles from 75 to 5000 so you stop running out of space with Huge Storage Rooms.. and change how much stuff is needed to craft items.. Like walls, I changed to 6 but doors are no longer 11 but 2, I get more reasonable amounts of Fur/Pelts/Skins from Animals and so on... And I am NOT a Computer geek, I figured this shit out by trial and error.

Yeah, just gotta figure out which file has which definitions, and what values to edit. Not too bad. Just make sure to have backups of the original files, and of the modded files as well, in case a round of verifying integrity of local game files wipes out your changes.

There is already a mod to increase stack size, it's called ogrestack. It has a nice mod menu for you to go in and change parameters for stack size and whatnot too

@@user-jm8sy5ox2j Yeah but this way, they learn something. Also how to change the amount each resource gives.. Trees give more real world log amounts, Vegies give more real world amounts so gardens don't have to take up the whole map. Batteries are more efficient and put out more power, Grass last longer and give more nutrients for animals, fuel for fire last longer and so much more, so you don't have to burden the game with all the mods, specially when some don't like to work with others..

There are a few things I can't figure out how to change their quantities. Meat... for one. Still can't make stacks higher than 75, Chunks more than 1 so I don't have such Huge Chunk Fields and random others... I Did Figure out how to make Certain benches 1/2 the size so they take up Way Less room.. Talk about Trial and Error there.. Sometime the bench would disappear.. or end up in a wall.. or the chair would end up two tiles away.. Solar Panels 1/2 the size, Geothermal 1/2 the size, Batteries hold 99999999999999999 Power so only need 1. Should make them bigger because of that but.... And when it Blows Up.. IT BLOWS UP!!!! :) ;) It's fun fingering... I mean Figuring this stuff out... Worst that can happen, You have to Uninstall and reinstall the game and start all over...

How many times did you have to re-roll? My world generation gets unstable around that mark, with so many modded in 'races.' Oh yeah - stay away from the 'relationships/faction' tab, learned that lesson quickly....

With the drought event he kind of had no other choise. I suppose he forgot about it after the drought was over though. Droughts cause every non-roofed soil tipe to have like... 10% fertility or so, meaning plants wont ever grow in it. But the rich soil retains 70% fertility so those were the only options to grow crops at
