I just found this channel and I’m glad I did. My brother and I are about to start a bbq business in the Milwaukee area. He wants to buy a built smoker and I’m not going for it. I convinced him and I’m looking for tanks and trailers. This is exactly what I envisioned. Watching your videos I have no pre build anxiety! Thanks for the knowledge and keep it up!

Great job...I think I’d make the top of the firebox flat so I could put a pot on it to keep warm or the ability to cook on it. Better yet make it flat then put a warmer box on it.

Now that time has passed how does the smoker pull down the road and any other design issues you are having.?

Great work. But that stack seems pretty high. i know that when it is too high, the smoke cools too much before exiting, causing it to lose 'lift', and creating backpressure on good flow. Would be interesting to know if there are any issues from it. It could be fine, i'm no expert.

How did scrip the paint off the tank, and what did you use.

We tried a couple different paint removers but none of them did quite what we were looking for. So we just used some flap discs on our angle grinders and ground it all off. We made sure to wear respirators.
