You must be outside of USA / Canada. The Motor Trend press release says they shut off subs due to new laws. Based on info posted by a vid maker that is based outside of USA / Canada and is in no way connected with Motor Trend, I found that content / ad revenue is taxed in the US and in the country where the subscriber is located. This double taxation is going to dramatically reduce revenue so why offer subscriptions at a loss?

@@mostlypostie1 YT changed their ad revenue model forcing MT to move to a paid subscription. It takes big $$ to produce the level of content they provide and the $ has to come from somewhere. MT is in it for the long term not like someone in the back of their garage using a cell phone to make a fuzzy, poor sounding vid once a month then not at all for a year or more. If you think that this is easy, how about coming up with a 20 min vid once a week for a year and get back to me?

Oh yeah I remember that used the statesman body for them (still a commodore especially us Statesman’s were the luxury versions used for government and other such things just a slight longer wheel base and rears doors etc changed Either way they were all build here in Australia then exported to you over there great to see you playing with them Will make a fun toy you can get lots of stuff for it both here and in the USA 🇺🇸

It was government only mostly for police followed by fire departments, they did not market or sell them to the public. The public was not allowed to buy them, but a few early on in 2011 and 2012 got out new to the public. This is not a Chevy SS that was poorly markets to the general public.

Nah, PPV is based on the LWB Holden Caprice. SS is SWB, same as the G8. The Chevy SS was also based on the later VF model Commodore, G8 was based on the VE.

Everyone wants a Caprice PPV now, so it makes them more valuable which is good with my 2011 Caprice that I have owned for 7 years now. Caprice PPV means Police Patrol vehicle, the Tahoe is Police Pursuit Vehicle. The Bluetooth can be fixed by White Automotive enabling it in the silver box, factory it is disabled. The L77 is a good motor once the DOD is deleted if you do not go over something like 500hp (DO not know the exact rating on aluminum block). After that an iron block is much better to handle the HP, but I would have gone with a 6.0L iron block. But a built 5.3L will work just fine. I may have to renew my Motortrend subscription, but probably will not...

Some of these were sold to the public. Look up LSX9C1 on youtube. Bought it new from a dealer, started as just D1 procharger and ended up as a iron 6.0 with a F1A procharger and all supporting mods.

i bought one recently. it has so many electrical demons from the upfitters i cant get the codes off my dash. low battery, even w 2 new batteries. tire sensors not working. AC shuts off after 2 mins with it overheating. these cars are a mess. an thats without including the disgusting interior. trim panels broken and hangi9ng off. no center console, no gps. stay away from these things. theyre a money pit

Most are beat up vomit comets with tons of miles and major issues, few are nice condition with low miles like my 2011 Caprice with 58k miles that I have owned for 7 years. Bought used from a Texas Constable with 15k miles, so I have only put on like 44k miles in 7 years.
